Hopefully Newman is a chance to return..

Said no one.

except Hardwick. be a little funny if he is rushed back. especially if it is for McBean.

If he's fit he plays.

2nd best key forward on the list.

Apart of course from all that goal kicking stuff.

Bigger goal per game goal kickers at Richmond on the list:

Jack
Ty
Edwards
Cotchin
Martin
Deledio
Lloyd
Gordon
Grigg
Arnott
Mcintosh
Ricky Petterd
Chris Kinights

The argument is more Vickery vs McBean deep. Griffiths plays more up the ground as highlighted by his 19 disposals, 10 marks, 2 goals vs Brisbane. McBean can't do that.

Unless we permanently move Riewoldt up the field which in my eyes is not his strengths.

I think McBean looked good when he touched it, but not enough to keep his spot. 7 touches and an out on the full isn't really enough, I don't think. By no means am I a McBean knocker, it's just that he's not quite ready. Had we lost I doubt people would be saying he stays.

Griff to come back.

Agree - Griffiths is miles ahead of McBean and should come back in if fit.

McBean is still very young and will be better for the run in the seniors

Based on what? Vibe? Griff under 0.5 goals a game, TV over a goal a game.

I think Griff will be a good player, but his confidence is a bit shot ATM I reckon, I've never seen a player miss so many gimme goals in a row, ever. 4 in a row within 20m no angle, Bris - Geelong games. Normally when a player misses an absolute soda they get the next one.

I'll say it again, it shouldn't be a McBean V griff thing even if Griff does return.

Griff is doing OK but needs to believe more.

Beanie can play up the ground. Was CHB in the U18 state side.

In fact his ground play, agility, skills and decision making make him a very good up field player.

But apart from that he's a bit of a dud.

He doesn't have the fitness to be a lead up option up the ground for 4 quarters. Cmon Lamb, that's ridiculous. Your love is blinding your logic. I'm a fan too, think he will be a good player.

He's a deep threat right now, at least until he matures and builds a tank. With his lack of strength too if he loses a one on one contest up the ground it's bad news on the counter.

I agree that he needs to build up his tank and also his upper body strength.

Liam actually wants to be the next Dean Cox, so he has ambitions beyonf the goal square.

Griff has shown some glimpses as a roaming CHF but he'd need to six years into his career.

Happy for Griff to be squeezed in but not for Beanie or Vickery.

Morris is the obvious out (together with Batch and Houli)

lol.

Houli would be close to an AA flanker right now. But nah, he should be in the VFL.

* but he's real skinny. *

* he's young and will be better for another run in the VFL *

* he only got 7 touches *

Listen to Lamby and Snakey, folks.

McBean's influence cannot understated.

I like griff but he can't lead. Doesn't know how. Vickery doesn't know how either. His bad habit is to crawl out the back.

If you're Martin / Cotch / Lids and you got McBean timing his leads correctly, you must also have Jack with only one opponent somewhere else.

Jack and McBean are our best chance at a double act since the Richo and Brown days.

I saw McBean run multiple leads and take stints in the ruck for four quarters down at Frankston a few weeks back, Barnzy.

The lad's stamina is fine.

The big issue is that his influence is currently being overstated. He could have had zero touches on Sunday and you'd be still talking up his game.

McBean didn't didn't prove that on Sunday either.

Luckily there's two season's worth of VFL proof.

... in addition to the ample proof from the game on Saturday.

Vickery and Griff both lead fine in the VFL. Vickery not as good of a lead as Griff but point being their VFL form translates to their senior form.

Griff to come back.

Its not all about numbers. In this case the numbers are crap. He was just involved in key plays, not always with a stat. Brought the ball to ground against 3 defenders at one stage that resulted in a goal, B Ellis I think? Invoved in a heap of great team goals that got us going. I'm actually a bit stunned anyone would countenance him being dropped. I'll give people the benefit of the doubt by accepting youse haven't seen the replay. First viewing I thought he was good, second viewing I thought he was very good. Considering how stodgey our fwd line has been all year, AND that it was his first game, I think he was bloody great!

This is how Dimma justifies Morris playing every week too.
