Team changes v Port

I would think Hunt would be on thin ice, however his run may well be vital against Port, might be able to do a job....

Edwards if fit

Most likely Edwards and Griffiths for Menadue and McBean (would love to give them more games to acclimatise, but these other two are in our best side).

Would also drop Morris for McDonough but no chance of that happening.

For all those suggesting that the logical decision is McBean for Griff, I would suggest that our forward line looked the best it has in two years today.

How stupid would you have to be to change that?

If you want to go back to boring 'Jack is triple teamed while Vickery and Griff trip over each other', then sure drop the key forward who actually lead at the ball.

Agree- loved McBean's leading. Created a contest on most occasions and opened up space. Quick hands off the deck too.

If he's dropped- I will lose all faith in Hardwick.

Edwards for Menadue
Macdonough for Morris
Griff for Elton

Only played one game in the VFL after missing two, will probably have to play another game before he could be considered.
Played full game two weeks ago against Cats. Then missed one and played today.

Conca, McDono, Edwards, Griffiths
For
Morris, Hunt, Batchelor, Menadue

We won, so minimal changes.

In: Edwards, Griffiths
Out: Menadue, McBean

OUT Morris Menadue McBean
IN McDonough (BOG in VFL) Edwards Griffiths

McBean is stiff but a victim of circumstance really. Smart player, will get plenty of games in the future. But not as good as Griffiths right now and Vickery won't lose his spot nor should he.

Before everyone starts endless pages of Griff vs Ty vs McBean and they all can't all play with Jack ask yourself this question....

Would our defence really perform worse if Chaplin was replaced by Griff at CHB?

We get better coverage for uber tall forwards as Griff is way better in the air on talls. Elton can continue to play (or Astbury) and Rance has 2 big guys around him now and never has to go within 30m of goal to defend a high ball again... he can just intercept everything across the 50m line.

That way all 4 in Ty, Griff, Elton and McBean play (keeping everyone happy and the team developing) and e have phenomenal coverage in the Ruck and Forward line for falls.
One always gets subbed and Maric (who is aging) gets plenty of gas saved for later in the year as Griff and Ty can pinch hit.
Even Jack can spend some time up the ground or CHB if the forward line needs a mother look.

Is Chaplin's influence on the game really that much to ignore all the benefits of the above option?
Love it.

Yes our defense is extremely poor without Chaplin. He is our leader down there and he marshals the troops to be structured and ready to rebound.

Remember our defense against the Dees - shoust!

95% of the game is played above the shoulders - a cool head will win more times than a young enthusiic head which is prone to errors.

Leave Chaplin alone he is our Defense Leader.

in madonna, shed
out morris, menadue.

griff via the 2's.
elton and jezus to get another game - don't demoralise them.

Agree with that!

Has to be:
Out: Menadue (emergency who played Sub with Edwards out) and McB
In: Edwards, Griff

Griff - Maric- Ty... Would not have happened too ofter. How much better is Ty when up the ground, he has incredible ground skills and makes the right decision most of the time for a lumbering big man.

BIG game to back up this drought breaking win over the pies. Forget elimination final revenge, just focus in what Brisbane did to dismantle them.!!! 4-4 with a massive dream-time game would put 2015 back on track

Dimma made the comment in the presser that we were forced to play the kids (Mcb, Men & El) due to injury and it was earlier than we wanted - pretty good clue that all 3 could be replaced if others come up - Edwards for Men and Grif for McB would appear clear cut - El may be retained.
Correct me if i'm wrong but i think that was the first match we'd gone in with 3 talls (Maric, Mcb and Ty) and it worked - given griff is far more advanced than Mcb I'm sure we'll see that change but still go in with the 3 talls next week.

Id get as many games into Elton as possible. Yes hes is inexperienced, but boy has he got the right physique to play on the monsters,,, and a decent kick too. Nice transition when Chaplin retires in 1-2 years time.
