Tambling (merged)

Re: Tambling [Merged]

I actually thought he wasn't too bad today, he applied good pressure at times and also attacked the ball hard at times.
But.............in saying that, he should be doing more, he fluffed it a few times as well.

I agree, persist with Jeromey instead of the Bling.

Trade time for Richie.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Massive over-reaction on here with Ritchie's game as usual.

He played ok! plain and simple.

K for a first gamer. Unfortunately he's played 105 games and in his 6th year.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Thought he tried really hard today, stuffed up his disposals quite a few times and went in hard to make amends.
I think Richie is just going to be an average footballer thats about it.

No you're wrong. I am usually a defender but watched him closely at the game.
Hit some contests hard but was unsatisfactory in many areas.
Sadly he's gone backwards this season Magic.

I'm glad you have realised it Oldie. You were OS when we were saying this years ago.

Now we have to convince Disco. ;D

Re: Tambling [Merged]

A disappointment in an otherwise stellar day. He NEVER demands the footy when we have it in possession. Totally lacking in confidence...And that silly jog when he is chasing an opponent with the ball.

Really disappointing. He may be in our best 22; fact is he should be in our best 10.

No, not good enough today. It cant be confidence.

fact is, he has lost a yard of pace since he debuted, whereas most players gain a yard

Would be a much worse reaction if we'd lost.

I've backed Tambling in since midway through last year, but have now abandoned hope of him recapturing that form in 2010.

I don't watch games for the tactics and am the first to admit that many things go over my head, and would love to know Hardwick's take on his game today.

I'd say he still heads our list for best trade.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

No one is better than Tambling at killing a flowing piece of play, by stopping, propping and turning it over.
Did it again today V the Weagles. The ball comes from the backline flows along the wing, Tambling freezes, turns it over and it goes back upfield for a goal.
Everyone made position before him and everyone made good position to receive the ball off him. Tambling destroyed the play....as usual.
He's a major choker.
A weak link in the Senior side.

Time to go join Jordy in the 2's Richie.
2011...trade bait.

Blame Kane Johnson for teaching him that. If only Ben Cousins had come to Tigerland a few years earlier ::)

Tambling's inadequacies are Kane Johnson's fault?

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Played well I thought. Leave him at half back - plays the role well. Good intensity at the ball and man. No longer required to be a superstar - just an above average soldier. Every team needs them.

There was a passage in the second quarter where this happened. Bling was on the southern side of the centre square. If you are referring to the same situation, it wasn't bling's fault. I was looking at Jack at the time and he should have been leading earlier and the other forward (may have been Ty) wasn't offering either. At the moment Tambling looked up to kick into the forward line, there was no clear option. Maybe he should have just bombed it, but it would have been difficult to kick it to advantage.

Having said that, his handball option wasn't great. Did a few good things and did a couple of bad things.
