Tambling (merged)

Re: Tambling [Merged]

I was feeling the same about Bling this time last year. Really wondered whether he had the desire to be the best he could. It's a shame that after his very good year last year we're back to asking the same questions.

Bling's strengths are clean hands, quite equisite skills in close, speed and ability to hit a target. Hardly a common thread in the RFC squad at the moment.
Be nice to see all of these qualities on display for a change....

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Confidence is what he lacks ATM. How does he get his confidence back? That's the $64,000 question. I sure hope he finds it because he's an important player for us when playing well.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Sorry but no thanks - I have no sympathy for a person who has constantly underperformed over a decent period of time. Do we want another Arron Fiora?
Because if we don't cut him at the end of the year that is what we will have.
Look we know what we can achieve with all our tried and trusted senior blokes (That being 2nd last and similar results for the last 30ish years) so this year you play the best performing seniors and the best performing youngsters no matter how inexperienced. We need to know if their is another Martin on our list.
Sometimes you just have to take a punt!
We can not afford to blood youngsters slowly.

and we gave up peterson and kept tambling...UNBELEIVABLE..we will be regretting that as much as we regret not picking franklin in the draft all those years ago

Thinking of Connors and Taylor, who both slid in the draft apparently due to character concerns, and Cousins who no other club wanted to touch...perhaps the club made a conscious decision after Franklin to make character a distant second to football ability when drafting? Though I'm not sure exactly what the doubts were on Franklin.

Pretty sure it's just the rest of this year Smoking.

Richie has been down but we all know he's capable of much better. Hopefully with a bit of support he'll get his confidence back and have a good season. Far too early to be writing him off or talking of delisting him.
Thanks Rosy.

Out of contract at the end of the year makes things very interesting. As shown in GPB's avatar, Tambling is definitely at the crossroads of his career.

Hypothetically speaking, if he were to be signed up by the Gold Coast what sort of compensation would we get?

With due respect Tambling has shown a fair bit more to date than muppet arms ever did.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Tambling will be good soon.

This time last year he just came off his worst game in his career.

He is capable of being a good player. There's no reason why he won't turn it around like last year.

Sure he has had a quiet start to the year but jeez we have been bad and he is adapting to a new coach and new game plan and new role.

lets focus on the other duds who will never never ever make it.

We are talking about Tambling not Judd

Skills in close are one of his biggest issues. Clean hands is a big issue for him when he's lacking confidence. When on-song agree with the speed and ability to hit targets, and is quite a strong mark for his size, and does generally tackle well. But skills in close? Naahhhh!

That awareness in tight is a very hard thing to improve as well GoodOne.

Agree. You either have it or you don't when it comes to that awareness in close.

No skills in close at all? I must have been watching different games to you last year. I'd cite some insightful stats to try and validate what I thought I saw if it weren't for fear of being howled down for doing so.

Disco, give up the fight. He's not a midfielder. Really its ok, he can still be a valuable player for us.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Nason has shown more in three games than RT has in 100. Im sure somebody will mention his run of decent games from last year, but i refuse to believe that he can do that on a consistant basis. Happy to be proven wrong, but I just dont see it happening.

Just doesnt want it enough.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

He's good enough but is he motivated enough?!

ffs Bling lift.
