Tambling (merged)

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Leysy will re-iterate his long standing view that Richie is not underperforming.

He is simply playing to his potential. At a groung like the SCG that is tight & time/space is at a premium he will always struggle.

Natural football instincts are rarely learned, he is yet another case in point.

He will be far better suited this sunday against a Melbourne side that wont apply the same pressure on a ground that suits him better. He could well play a good game.

But asking him to step up & be counted in a tight pressure cooker game is something that leysy has always thought is beyond him unfortunately.

I have lost any faith that he is capable of playing footy at an elite level, in fact I have more confidence that Matt white can contribute more to the RFC than what RT can...sad but true...he does not justify a place in the side in any way shape or form

MATT WHITE??? Gimme a break.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Be patient...the Tambling experiment is nearly over.

Praise the Lord!! ::)

Re: Tambling [Merged]

I don't care if Dean Polo gets a game over Tambling. That's how bad he's been.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

Richie is a medium sized player, lightly built and built for speed.
Play him on the wing.
Those expecting him to be a star cos he was a No 3 ( ? ) draft pick have got to lower their expectations.
Don't base your judgements on where he was recruited base them on his week to week performances - not that he's starrring mind you.
He can play the boy but like miost indigenous footballers he can be inconsistent.

The thing we are forgetting....and finally the media is picking up on, is that we have tried Tambling everywhere. And everywhere he is lost!!
Last year's Senior players who brought him into the game....have left the club.
He's rudderless in whatever part of the field you want to play him in.

No amount of hypnotism will save him now.

As Hardwick fills the team with HIS style of player....Tambling will be pushed aside.
He's had a fair go.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

The question is then, does he fit at another club? What would we realistically get for him? And what would we want for him?

Personally, I don't think he will attract that much, given the GC plunder of the draft. Might as well hang on to him then.

Agree that Sydney at the SCG is a mitigating circumstance in theory, but he played very well there last year.

Re: Tambling [Merged]

and we gave up peterson and kept tambling...UNBELEIVABLE..we will be regretting that as much as we regret not picking franklin in the draft all those years ago

the worst side is his work ethic,he seems lazy and refuses to really get invloved and take the game on

the fact that all these years later we wondering and arguing if tambling is any good speaks absolute bloody volumes doesnt it...i like the guy..i feel for him..he must be so frustrated and wanting to do well..but its just not working....time to move him on

You are forgetting he actually had a good year last year. Perhaps he should be dropped this week although I'd be tempted to leave him in against a side like Melbourne cause he's more likely to find form.

this for me is the most frustrating aspect of his game, you don't need ability to be able to do this, and this, at minimum, is what i personally expect, and i believe we don't get, from Richie

At the start of a season?

hahaha yeah..fair enough

look..i know i bag him a bit..but he frustrates the living hell out of me...i know..(we all know)..he obviously could be so much..its in him to be a quality, top, player....and i know his hearts in it..he wants to do well..maybe its the club,s inability to develop his talent that lies at the core of his problem, ib love nothing more than to see him have an incredibly great year

Simply doesn't want to work hard enough. It's as simple as that.

Until he decides that he wants to be the best player he can be, it's not going to improve.

I can take bad days from any player, but being bad because of attitude is something that is hard to take.

Really needs to extract the digit does Richie, I hope he can. Showed last year he can play at the level.

Good post bobby.
No doubt it's mental with Bling.
Had really hoped he'd turned the corner last season but his start this year has been extremely disappointing.
We cannot afford to have players regressing if we are to move forward as a club and Tambling needs to stand up and be counted.
If it takes Hardwick to send him to Coburg in order for that to happen so be it.

He was back to some of his old tricks on Saturday night.
I HATE when he cruises around the contest. His body language at times is appalling.
Right now Richie needs to decide if he wants to play for the Richmond Football Club and give his all EVERY WEEK because if not a trade can certainly be accommodated at season's end. I have been a supporter but I am not impressed right now. Tambling needs to lift.

Probably becoming to be clear that he doesn't. Drifts into cruise mode far too often for my liking. You either have that desire to succeed or you don't. It's an emotion and its not something you teach. Sometimes a life-changing event changes that. Thought this might have beent he case with Tambling last year. Obviously not.
