are you as critical of them as you are of ritchie?

richie will be fine, and by years end will be an important cog in our midfield rotation, rite now he is still just getting to that point

And that would be because 1 reasonable game does not maketh a career. When he strings a few good games together this will result in a good season, then a few good seasons together which will create a good career then the knives can be put away.

I see so you'll be bagging Tambling for at least another few good seasons. Gee I'm looking forward to it fellow Richmond supporter.

By my calculations Tambling has played 7 good games out of the last 8. Possessions are increasing, quality of possession, opposition pressure including tackling and 1%ers all improving. You can see all this statistically, you can see it on the ground. Plenty of work to do, plenty of improvement left.

Of the Mids he,s probally been our most consistant this year.More importantly he,s improving on each outing now that he,s been given a task of playing as an inside mid

Agreed.

You know a lot of people don't pick up on this watching the TV or live or whatever, but he is ALWAYS at the bottom of the pack. He is the one that often gets that first handball out yet no-one ever seems to recognise it. Maybe its because the commentators don't mention it or whatever, but yeah he is always in and under. He is progressing well as a midfielder.

The frustrating bit he,s about a half a step from bursting from the pack.Once this happens id say there will be a fair few people with eggs on their face ;D

Excellent game on Sunday. That is more like what we've all been waiting for. Let's hope he can continue to improve.

Things will get better for Tambling if the club/team gets better.

Ability aside, still too much of a front runner for mine.

That's just the point. McMahon had a great game too. Hyde also. Had Tivendale played he would have been terrific also. Same with Pettifer.

Freo were terrible and applied minimal pressure. We had loose players everywhere. Lets not get too carried away with things.

Back to Tambling, let's hope he's not good only when the team is up and running and all over the opposition (as rare as it has been lately). Consistent solid games in close contested games is what we need from Ritchie.

:hihi :hihi

When he plays poorly or average he is the drafting stuff-up of the century, when he plays well he is a front runner. Sheesh, what does he have to do??

Here are his stats for 2008. Not too shabby:

Gm Disp Kck KLg Mrk CMk Hbl Tkl Gls Bhd F/F F/A H/O 1st Cle In50 Rb50 CPs UCPs 1% Err Bnc
4 16.2 7.5 4.0 4.5 0.5 8.8 4.2 1.2 0.2 1.0 1.2 0.2 2.8 1.5 3.8 0.8 2.5 16.8 2.8 3.5 1.8

Watched the Hawthorn game on Sunday before we played Freo. And while I agree Richie played OK – Rioli’s game in Tassie was far better. The tackle on rutten was better than any single act Richie had, and he had more of the aggot.

We need to be realistic…

Why compare him to Rioli Compare him to Farren Ray and see how he stacks up. Or Alex Gilmour.

In 14 posts you have mentioned the love of Cyril twice; the greatness of Alastair Clarkson twice; Buddy and Roughhead at least once. You have had a crack at Tambling at least 3 times and similar for as you call him "Wallet". Very very fishy smell coming from your direction :flush
