Deeks, Tabling is around 80kg, one of the highest weight versus height ratios at the Tigers. I think he's coming along fine in the middle.

18 possessions, 9 marks, 3 goals, I'm not exactly sure what people are wanting out of a player who has played 57 games (or under 3 seasons) of AFL footy.

Anyway I'm happy with his form and progress. Kepp it up Tambling.

I agree, watch how many times he's positioned himself exactly at the fall of the ball at stoppages. A player either has that or doesn't. It's not something that's easily taught. As i posted earlier, in previous games although he was getting to the fall, he seemed to lack the composure/ tried to spend it before controlling it. That will come wiht composure and confidence!

At least he knows where to be and more importantly, that it's better to be timing your move through the stoppage rather than standing there flat footed waiting for the hit out like so many of our other midfielders!

Well put, this is exactly the reason why he is a natural on baller not a flanker.

I was confident he'd play well because he loves the hot weather. I think he equates hot weather with enjoyment and that comes through in his footy.

Tiger HQ should start up some investigations into thermal vests or maybe that electrode therapy can increase his temperature by a few degrees for the melbourne games. If not maybe he can play in sunnies and a hawaian shirt.

Good signs if we can ever get to September

Spot on Lamby, here in Darwin, players refuse to even take the field if it's not 33C and 90% humidity! Ritchie must have been feeling right at home at Subi.

Perhaps heaters at the Dome should be introduced to encourage our indigenous players?

Bling played good yesterday (as did the majority of the team)....and congratulations to them all for their efforts.

But....and there is a BUT...remember:

Like I keep saying....Bling will have his great quarters in the middle and then disappear....or he might even have an excellent game, but then do nothing for the next 3 weeks.
It's CONSISTENCY in the middle that I expect from a top-5 draft pick....and I think (and I hope I am wrong...more than happy to cop it from everyone on here if I am) that Bling is in the same boat as Wells from the Kangas.

....so let's see how he goes for a number of weeks before lauding him as the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Interesting too that he only played 67% game time which makes his stats look even better! I also agree with Tery starting him on the bench. He seems to need to work into the game and he has been quiet in the start of games, this year as a mid and I think that has contributed to our poor starts.

Plough has been waiting for Bling to grow enough body to play midfield instead of around the fringes.
He's coming on like a runaway frieght train.

I reckon part of the reason bling cops so much criticism is that he looks like a flashy outside player but a lot of his good work is actually done in and under and can go unnoticed. I really did get the feeling (hope) that sunday was important in building his confidence- i certainly enjoyed the 'daics' goal

Thought yesterday was his best game for the club, backed himself yesterday with hard running and trying to break the lines.

good call...bling is now starting to do most of his good work in and under..and alot of the time...unless u watch closely or watch on tv....it's hard to actually credit him for the work...

Watched the replay, he did all the stuff you dont get stats for. Was fantastic. Also finished the game with ball in his hands ;)

What impressed me was his foot skills... alot of my worries was that his kicking wasnt very classy... but one kick on the run to polak i think was just BLISTERING!
on a side note his long run and miss... had he kicked it would have been a pearler!

Another kick forward wasn't the best - It bounced of the feet of a Tiger player at HF, but he followed up, read the play well and got a 2nd stat in the same action. Although the initial stat was a clanger, he followed up nicely...and thats a part of his game that has improved. There are other Tigers who have improved in the 2nd effort department...names like Pattison, Moore and King spring to mind.

Don't let that get in the way of the fact according to some that he's not improving. At bay this week, but he'll surely play a quieter game sooner or later and the knives will be out again.

And that would be because 1 reasonable game does not maketh a career. When he strings a few good games together this will result in a good season, then a few good seasons together which will create a good career then the knives can be put away.

Tambling has played a "reasonable" game before only to go missing for many weeks afterwards which is just one reason why he cops the flack he does.

so i guess that makes him exactly like all our other juniors.

Tambling ended 07 well, and has looked good in most games this season. This is hardly a flash in the pan with just one good game.

Not saying he is a star yet, but he is not a one hit wonder either.
