Tambling (merged)

Now on the way. He needs to get stronger post season and continue to strive to work hard for a whole game and not in fits and starts. However he's going in an encouraging direction and now looks like a No. 4 draft pick.

He played great tonight. Tambling and Deledio. Our picks 1 and 4 in the 2004 draft, finally showing the AFL world what they are capable of. Can't wait to see these two in 2008, its exciting.

LMAO, I've watched this thread hammer tambo from zero to hero.

Love em when theyre up but kick em in the guts when theyre down even if they're just kids

Would hate to read this thread next week if he has an average day at the office, what a joke ::)

Definitely has an aversion to tackling ATM.

Isn't he amongst our leading tacklers this year?

To me it appeared to be a conscious decision not to tackle.

It's the shoulder for sure, isn't it L2? Worried he'll pop the thing. You don't suddenly develop an aversion to tackling.

You know he wasn't called King Richard in the NT for nothing. Will keep getting better ;)

He's improving and finishing off the year strongly.
The signs are promising.

:hihi I thought the same thing. I'm the first to cut Tambo a bit of slack and I am critical of those who come down too heavily on him but the contrast in the posts on this thread is amazing.

I think he is beginning to show what he is capable of. Long way to go yet, but he is young and deserves time to develop. Still does some silly things but I think his curve is heading in the right direction (did I just sound like TW? Sorry :-X ). I still think the kid's going to be OK. will be interesting to see just how far he can take it. Fingers crossed.

have never bagged tambling im happy to say. would still prefer buddy though or in an ideal world both.

What finally struck me today was how elusive he is, always gets around opponents. I know its nothing major, but it just shows he is willing to take the opposition a bit more.

Great game Ritchie :clap

Seeing it's the end of the season and everything, I'd quite like to read an appraisal from the thread starter. :)

Bling did some very hard-at-it things today. And almost every time he got the ball he did something good with it. He becomes more like McCloud every day, one of those players who their 20 touches are worth 30 by other types of player. I really rate Bling, he has finished the year well and I'll be disappointed if he doesn't have a break out year next year.

Just maybe there carrers may go in different directions ;)

Hit petiffer on the chest three times inside 50m.

The half assed efforts have disappeared since his demotion.
Whatever Wallace said to him appears to have worked and he's on the up.

Tambling started off the season like this
01b.jpg

Overall a much better season statistically than his first two.  Watching Tambling, whether at the ground or on television, even to the inexperienced eye, he showed he was miles away from the hype that put him as the number 4 pick overall in the 2004 draft.

Enough has been said of his defincencies that were standing out like dog's gonads earlier this season.  His last half a dozen odd games have shown glimpses of what we could expect in the future.  He has been showing bursts of speed taking on the opposition, that's right taking on, this would be Tambling's asset in the future, he'll hurt the opposition by scooting around/through/past them, which ever way he chooses.

Today I saw something new.  He kicked a beautiful thumping kick from outside 50, he took on the opposition more today, I'm finding he is becoming more confident, I'm not sure whether it's because he is finding his feet or not, but he is looking more relaxed.  I also saw a confident contested mark, without hesitation, and with his eyes on the ball until it hit his hands, this all happened in front of me.

I would love Tambling to become this

Tambling has the potential to become a maserati match winner.  He'll need to be injury free during the pre-season and will need to work twice as much as he did last year.

Finally, I would like to say well done to his President this year   :clap :clap.  He batted very hard (with a bit of help from the side as well) backing Richard to the hilt from the ferals that were tearing him to shreds.  I just hope you never thought for one second that it was personal.  My view was purely a critical expression, and at the end of the day we all would love each and every Richmond player to excel.
