Tambling (merged)

I think Richie plays his best footy on HFF, running up the wings to recieve, then either spotting up a target inside 50 or going for goal himself. Whenever he has been good this year, that is where he has played.

Im not going to take pot shots at Hornsby or any of the fitness staff i.e doctors when I know sweet FA about the subject.

Some would remember when TW took over an made Hornsby do the entire program again as he wasn't happy with his first one, point been TW signs of on that sought of thing so he would have to take a big chunk of the responsabilty.

IMHO I don't know if the fitness is the big issue or its just a lack of class or the amount of kids in the team or a combination of all

Remember CC that when Terry took over Noel Duncan was in charge of strength and conditioning, not Hornsby. But yes, Terry had a large part in changing the program to incorporate more running and you can't do that without sacrificing some muscle.

I think Terry has way more control over strength and conditioning than most coaches in the AFL, and as we all know, with Terry it's his way or the highway. Not much room for independant thought from the assistants around the club at Richmond.

I think Terry has control of strength and conditioning in the same way Miller had control of the drafting in previous years!?

Tambo can find space and always seems to take a few marks its what he does with his disposal or his lack of awareness that gets him into trouble he always seems to run into opposition.

BTW Ritchie had 18 disposals and 10 marks against the Weagles.
Not bad considering he played pretty ordinarily in the first half.

Starting to get his possession count up and whilst minimal, his stats have improved across the board his season.
Hopefully Bling can have a strong finish to the year.

His second half is what we would like to see more often Oldie. I was very pleased with his performance after half time, and Blings trademark, running like a cheetah streaming into goals should be something we could see more of in years to come.

Consistency is the key of course and a down day is allowed, but at the end of the day Bling should hurt the opposition on the scoreboard.

Here's to a good game. :fing32

Tambling's last couple of weeks have shown more encouraging signs than his last couple of years put together. The last half against the Eagles has hopefully taught Richard the virtue of hard work and putting in. Hopefully he can continue the graph on an upward trend.

He is a nice talent
Has played some great quarters earlier in the year, now some guality halves
Next year he should improve again

The needle is moving slowly, very slowly.

No idea of what is install with Richard Tambling is going to mature into.

He is on par with Shaun Burgoyne, Des Headland, Andrew McLeod, David Wirrpanda, Leon Davis and Xavier Clarke.

Most of these boys made large improvements after their third or fourth year. After looking at those stats I am a quite comfortable with what Richie is doing right now.

one thing ive always liked about bling is his marking ability. always seems to take good one grab marks even if there is pressure

i am sure he will be a much better player than both davis and clarke

Tambling will be fine. I read somewhere that wallace thinks he will be a champion player and he knows more about Tambo then any of us. He is still developing his body and is only 20 FFS. Everyone develops at a different time and wallace said it would take him a few years before he is fully consistent. If people cant see that he will be a gun well they have no clue about footy.

Headland are you mad?

Why? Headland averaged nine touches in 20 games as a 20 year old. Also, 0.6 goals, 2.6 marks and 1.9 tackles.

Tambling is well ahead of that this year and has shown as much talent in glimpses as Headland ever did. He also has started to show genuine courage where Headland is and has always been a sniper.

They greatest front runner of the modern game,Dessy that is

Spoke to Polly earlier in the year an he told me how Headland is one of his best mates an that he is about the best boxer going round, just shows you dont have to be tough to be tuff ;D

Also played golf with a 200 game x VFL player the other day an he said he wouldnt be to worried about Tambling reckons he will be a beauty yet

Funny watching the Roos game the other day got me thinking. Many people screamed blue murder over the Johnson deal claiming it cost us Wells. Well started thinking some of those same people are now into Tambling, but where do you rate Wells in relation to Tambling.

I reckon Ritchie is starting to shape as a more rounded player than Wells.

Any thoughts.
