Talking Politics

Of course, they are nowhere near each other in terms of influence over the federal governing party.

I wonder how the Govt, after slinging mud at Rudd, are going to handle Senator Ian Campbell after the revelation he met with Burke last year? Pots and black kettles. Politics. :blah

Yes LAST year Mr Campbell, (not when Ian was in opposition) :hihi
Talk about glass houses...........

Not in opposition like Kevin was and far more recently that Kevin. Like Jerry Jeff Walker sings "The pot can't call the kettle black if the trains are all running on the same old tracks" Funny stuff.

Can't wait to hear the Libs get up Campbell and give him the character assassination they did to Rudd. ;)

Just heard about that on the box and it caused me to burst out laughing.

Campbell was an absolute DUD anyway. (See, I really just needed an excuse to use the term
in a non football related topic ;D )

Good stuff JB :clap

C'mon Ladies....what have you got to say for yourselves and your ALP now? ;D

I don't know what you mean. I probably tend to lean towards Labor but I don't follow one particular party. I'll vote for whoever I think is right for the job at each election.

Are you inferring Rudd should resign too? If so I so crap to that. Campbell getting the boot was just damage control by the Libs because THEY started the muckraking without looking in their own backyard first.

Campbell hasn't gone so much for the actual meeting but for the damage it would cause the party if he stayed. They couldn't be seen to have such double standards.

I find their situation hilarious. Backfired bigtime on them. ;D

Yeah, come on Howard, call an election over it. Let the people decide. Doesn't have the ticker I'll bet. ::)

bleedin obvious yes mld. as for calling bracks, dodgey as well. Improper process. It stinks. Just like the time he ALLEGEDLY upped his tender for the casino after just happening to attend a barbe at JK's place. But they never discussed the casino of course.

Walker is exactly like Burke, just does it with far more style and panache, and is far more effective.

Comparing Walker to Burke is just plain silly Snake.

Why is that JB?

both heavy hitters in their parties, both held high office, both have the ear of current heavy hitters, both implicated in questionable use of said contacts with heavy hitters. Just like comparing Demott Brereton with Royce Hart really

Pure politics, and good politics, but thats all it is. Other Howard ministers have done far worse things and survived, Vaille and Downer recently on the wheat board stuff (and JH himself for that matter). Campbell was a sacrificial lamb to keep the pressure on Rudd and make people think exactly along the lines you're thinking along. Good politics, but if you want to get into the pot calling the kettle stuff you could to-and-fro all day.

Walker, while he may be a blue blood right wing liberal with the ear of influential people, has actually done a lot of good things for the public, particularly Victoria. Bracks was certainly keen to keep him involved when he took power.

Being a heavy hitting liberal doesn't automatically mean you are corrupt - that is more likely the domain of simply being a politician, left or right.

You call it 'damage control'...thats fine...but at least something happened, and action was taken.

What have the ALP done to discipline THEIR party members?

I'll tell you what they have done....ZERO.

Heh no doubt campbell will be back after the next election if they win..
Who do howard and his clowns think they are kidding..

"Action was taken." Yup! All of a sudden Howard discovers ministerial responsibility. :rofl

I'm still waiting on the ALP response.......hows that glass house going there? ;)

I wouldn't call myself ALP scouser but my earlier post regarding the politics of what is going on, and the wha=eat board inquiry stuff answers your question, if you can get your head around that.

When you said "ladies" plural was I right in assuming you included me Livers? If so where's the apology for linking me as a firm supporter of the ALP? You've very wrong if you did include me and shouldn't be so quick to categorise people. ;)

My comment about pots and black kettles covers glass houses too. The Libs started the mud-slinging and had to go into damage control to save face. A few panes of glass shattered from the stones they threw. Funny. :hihi
