Talking Politics

If you bothered to read anything being posted in this thread, you would have noted that THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT had been sending lots of cash to Hamas over the years. LOTS!

And, most Palestinians DO NOT support Hamas.

But as I am sure you aren't interested in finding out any facts, carry on...
Thank you but I knew Hamas was tickling Tel Aviv's Palestine monies. The above thread endorses the fact people should not be blaming Israel for the Palestinians misery when it is their own who are the culprits. I get criticized & ignored on PRE for posting these facts out which I find unwarranted. I do not endorse the loss of civilian lives as the situation unfortunately warrants that. Israeli's had two choices after the bloody murderous incursion ,.Do what they are doing now or go to the United Nations . Can you imagine the response fhey would get from the UN . Have you read Leon Uris's book Exodus. If you have not suggest you do .

Massively oversimplifying the money situation. The FACTS are that Israel Govt game millions to Hamas to stop the Palestinians from joining together under the banner of the PLO (is that right?). They gave Hamas the money to make them appear as if they had the answers, they also let ppl in the West Bank go through to Israel for work. It has been a truly despicable act on the Israeli Govt's part that has all been about "separate and conquer"!

The fact that some in Hamas have been grubbing money would come as no surprise to anyone, as they have their own crappy agenda *that less than 40% of Palestinians are in favour of.*

I would guess you are ignored because you keep pushing the same 'barrow, regardless of truths. If The Bolt Report says something, it doesn't make it true...

Oh really? I suppose those are Palestinians flying planes in to drop bombs on Gaza. It was Palestinians who turned Gaza and the West Bank into Ghettos.

What a load of crap.

The Hamas attack was an atrocious act, but it did not happen in some sort of vacuum, it happened in the context of Israel as an occupying power.

What choices do the Palestinians have? Or do you just reckon they should leave and Israel takes all of the occupied territories?

Come on, you keep telling us that the actions of the Israeli government are the only choice they could have made, now enlighten us - what do you think the Palestinians should do?

Yep, and all Israel have done now is create a potentially even larger group of more militant opposition.

If your whole family has been detsroyed, your home has been destroyed and your future destroyed how difficult a decision would it be to join a group hell bent on revenge against the detroyers?

That region is destined to be a war zone for decades.

If Israel wanted to create a whole new generation of militants they are doing exactly the right thing for it to happen.

I saw an interview with Martin Griffiths the other day. He is a bit of a legend in the aid circles going back to when he was in Cambodia post the Khmer Rouge, with Save the Children for a time and was the UN envoy in Yemen in recent years, amongst other things. He said he has never in his career seen worse than what is happening in Gaza, the word he used was carnage. The displacement of people and the death of children in such a short period of time is unprecedented.

Now after Hamas eliminated raise from the ashes as Germany & Japan have done.

But that is an impossibility because of their religious beliefs. On that point you may say why is Israel & Egypt enjoying a comfortable relationship ? Reason because of the Suez canal. Egypt economy relies on it & they realize in todays warfare it is easy prey to modern missiles thus keep on the right side of Israel.

Very disappointing no Australian war ship to join international force in the Red Sea / Suez canal area. His statement it is not as important of the Far East does not stack up as 75% of trade is through the Red Sea/ Suez Canal.

Haaarrrgh. Time for the old Kat in the hat to take his pension n have a good lie down. Bloody annoying as hell having the old buccanears assaulted by cheesy xmas jingles for six weeks every time you go to any public gathering area. Most of the " music " has *smile* all to do with the spirit of God bothering in the first place it's nothing more than a massive marketing push to buy more toys n go on holidays somewhere.

The Conmann at it again.

"Data from the Centre for Public Integrity, an anti-corruption body formed by former top Australian judges, shows that between 2013 and 2020, while Cormann was Finance Minister, Federal Government payments to Sayers’ PwC Australia for “management advisory services” exploded by more than 17 times — from $5.8m to $101.4m."

Who's surprised???

Maybe Cormann taught Old mate Dan everything he knew as he went along :)). With the amount of expert consultancies and outside advisors all levels of Govt use these days. I'm amazed we even bother wasting gazillions of dollars having a public service who used to do all the analysis, information gathering and advising that all these specialized experts do now. Talk about doubling and tripling the outlays for half the result nobody does it better than Governments when it comes to pissing the tax payers money down the drain.

Ooh, I reckon those consultancies make the public service look like rank amateurs when it comes to consuming taxpayer funds for very little of any worth.

No argument there from me, at least the old Pubic service are basically working on behalf of the best outcomes for the country and the public regardless of how constipated and convoluted the system may be.
All those outside, independent, expert consultancies are purely working on their own behalf and advantage.
