Sydney Stack

Didn’t say anything about CCJ as he hasn’t got any priors
End of Story
The implications with Syd is that he was on a “ heavy worded “ contract which is now in jeopardy as Paul Peos stated today which there will be “ robust discussion “ come October when lists get trimmed
Paul was having a lend of the listeners today in regards to Stacks fitness and conditioning. @caesar would of witnessed first hand how outfit Syd was . We wonder why he was so unfit . Any suggestions fellow posters ???
give you one guess and for those uneducated, you can have two guesses .
Have to give Paul Peos some leeway here as he is based in WA after all
I actually feel sorry for the younger players on the fringe of getting there opportunity
Syd is a very gifted footballer with ball in hand . No doubt about that
But you need a lot more than that to be a success at AFL level which is elite

From memory Caesar also reported that Balta was regularly last in repeat sprints this preseason. Even beaten by Soldo at one stage.
And look how that turned out.

( if my memory has failed me, then my argument is obviously mute)

It's been a poor 12 months for Syd, from the time he was dropped last year, the injury, the underwhelming comeback in the VFL finals, and a poor 2020. Let's hope this is more than just a kick in the kebabs for him. And equally for CuJo.

You are correct but Noah to his credit trained everyday during the shutdown ( unlike someone else ) and come back a picture of health and Fitness . Credit to him

Sounds like his manager does not think he will be back at Richmond.

Certainly no better than 50/50, manager using words like he has history, clubs more likely to take risks with character flawed players with full list sizes but not so much if reduced, serious discussions to be had in October, no support in Melbourne when no football etc, doesn't sound overly positive.

So it appears leopards can change their spots.
I rest my case your honour

Not many things worse than a kick in the kebabs

I’m sure everyone doesn’t share this view but I see the consequence/actions of the Cotchin breach at the same level as the Stack/CCJ breach. And you should be able to make better decisions sober.

I’m not sure the same level of vitriol got levelled at Brooke in terms of wanting her out of the hub and the club Because that would obviously be ludicrous. But if we are going to blame the most recent indiscretion for the soft cap consequences then in my view we hold the first breach to the same standard and level of contribution to the consequence. They both count as 1 breach.

it’s like giving away 50 for a goal in the first quarter that leads to a goal vs doing it in the last when you are a few points up. Most remember the late one and blame that one.

With that said I want the best for all involved. It could really make stack and CCJ if they bounce back hard from this with focus. Right now best bet for them is to just get out of the spotlight after their apologies and let everyone else focus on the job at hand.

Hopefully everyone else can knuckle down and follow the rules through the finals or we are done.

Agree. Brooke, Buckley and Sanderson should have been sent home also.

I like the fact both players have apologised and taken full responsibility within a day of it happening. They could have hidden away and stayed silent, but have at least chosen to own their mistakes.

COVID life is hard on everyone. We don’t know exactly how much harder it is for indigenous players, but I’m gonna assume it is, for a variety of cultural reasons.

I also think it’s hard on young adults. They are trying to do the right thing but sometimes the dam wall just bursts. You’re filled with energy. Being pinned down in the prime of life would be really hard.

These guys had a few drinks and we all know what that feels like. You feel good, you don’t wanna just go home. One thing leads to another. You make dumb choices. Who hasn’t been there?

Not saying these guys are blameless, but they need kindness and support. I hope they stay on our list and I hope they become stars.

Hey Stig. I have sat back and observed your commentary for a while now. And I will start by saying I don't have an insight to the club as you appear to.

But, the fact you have insights scares me. Richmond was lost for the majority of my life. About 20 years. I joined this forum over ten years ago. And there were a lot more posters with your insight back then.

The fact these posters were around was not a good thing. It meant the club lacked the all in mentality. That everyone supports each other.

To be clear this is my observation, and not a reflection on you, but rather the club.

RFC should be better. They were better, especially at controlling the news around them. My god how they changed the image of Martin from bad boy to misunderstood genius is worthy of a book.

But as other posters have pointed out, you do appear to have a vendetta. This doesn't mean you are wrong. In fact you may be right 100%.

But you shouldn't be allowed to vocalise it on here in my opinion. Richmond may have reached too far with stack. But they still have done the right thing drafting and playing him. If he needs to move on so be it. Use your links to the Club to have it done. If he has done half of what you say in my opinion he is done.

But Premiers should take risks as we have with stack and also Pickett.

I guess I am saying I do not agree with you running around like chicken Little, as I view it as symptomatic of the club failing.

Spoke with a board member today.
Absolute rubbish being purported by Caro.
We are in the top 3 financially stable clubs. We are one of a small group that will not be seeking loans from the AFL to survive.
if we were to scrap our VFL team, everyone would scrap theirs before us.
Even Jeff Kennett the other week noted us, WCE & Hawthorn as the only clubs not seeking AFL assistance.
