Sydney Stack

Not sure that time with his family is what he needs if he's thinking of maintaining a career in the AFL.

Yeah I thought that was where a lot of Syd's problems stemmed from and I think I remember at the time of drafting Peos thought it was a blessing to get Syd out of WA to an interstate club?

Can't make him pay the fine. Unless it's stipulated in his contract which I doubt. Benny just said that to appease the outraged members. I'm happy for my membership money to go to the fine.

I prefer mine to go to the innocent staff member who may have to be retrenched out of this sorry saga. Time for Stack to move on. He never accepts responsibility for his actions. It's just not acceptable for players vying for a spot int he team just a short few weeks from finals to be out at strippers at 3am in the morning let alone at this crazy time of virus spread. It does nothing for the culture or reflect well when there are 13 other youngsters either younger or within a year of Stack's age doing the right thing yet many not getting the same opportunities. Stack has had his chances. You have to draw the line in the sand somewhere. Maybe he can pick up somewhere else with a club that doesn't have the same aspirations as the RIchmond FC.

I would be too - but if true, then clearly the situation for ALL AFL teams is bloody dire. Perhaps the truth of how bad the situation is has not been fully told yet. I certainly didn't expect most of the fallout thats happen cos a dude in china ate a bloody bat
Not just any bat. This bat had unprotected sex with a scaly mammal. Or the other way around.

Can't argue with that. It's unfathomable considering timing and climate. Whatever happens I hope we can give him the support to get through what will be a difficult time. At the same time you can understand if the club will be focused on other things and that's not even limited to finals. Next year team lists, cap size, VFL program etc

I have a feeling their is a maximum that a player can be fined by a club and it’s certainly not big enough to cover this fine

$5k under the agreement with the Players Association. Stack's agent has already stated Stack will not pay any of the fine so not sure why Gale went public with his comments.

Anyone confident of Stack being with us next year, here is some food for thought:

Tiger's playing future clouded: manager Paul Peos

Saturday 5 September 2020 2:47pm
Suspended Tiger Sydney Stack's manager Peos says the long-term plan is to get Stack back to Western Australia with more support.
Because that worked out the first time. This is pure player manager talk.

Evidently the rule is that it can be more than $5k if the player agrees which is what Trent Cotchin did.
Clearly that is not the case with Stack however.

Trent Cotchin wasn’t the one who was fined... in that case it was the club and the Cotchin's agreed to pay it.

Its bemusing really. If I purported to speak on behalf of my employer by making statements like "no one likes this person" or "everyone thinks this" about another employee in a public forum I'd be at the very least getting a stern talking to.

I cant imagine the club being overly impressed about statements like these being made in public by an employee (or a confidante of one) about a fellow employee - especially when it seems like a personal vendetta.

This is the point I am making. Trolls make up stuff to infuriate you to get a kick.
Do you know for a fact that the posts you have read are written by a Richmond employee or close player contact?
The answer is no.
It is likely complete rubbish.
