Sydney Stack

Sydney has shown us Tiger supporters, the general footy public, but most of all himself, what he is capable of when he knuckles down & does the hard work required to be an AFL player.
The ball is very firmly in his court as to what he WANTS to be remembered as. Either a star player who got the best out of himself or just another wasted talent.

We can all be fickle when it comes to our beloved Tigers. We had patience with a young and bull-headed Dusty because the talent was obvious. If Stack shows he can produce and even star then all will be forgiven, I suspect.

excited to see a fit and firing stack come back for pre-season. the only thing holding him back was his conditioning and think this will give him the wake up call he needs. could be like a new recruit in 2021 to help us with our 3 peat

I reckon he's gone once this season is finished. I actually think they are both gone...

My opinion has changed, why reward him with a spot in our champion squad?
I reckon off load now, there are kids in our squad hungry to succeed he dosent. He has had over 10 months to recover and work hard to get back to full fitness.
Every time he played this year, he looked like he ate 3 kebabs before the game.
We aren't Richmond of 1997,
Trade him, freo will take him

Given no one else wanted him first time around, would someone take him now given they could fairly assume even the tiger's culture couldn't bring him into line.

Don't see him having much in the way of trade value.

Fremantle have been badly burnt by Bennell, Hogan, McCarthy. I doubt they'd take a risk on Stack unless he did a couple of seasons in the WAFL and showed he'd pulled his head in.

Cya later. Not worth the hassle. Young kids would give their left nut to be on an AFL side. For every good game Stack would play there would be a number of misdemeanours to deal with. Has the ability to lead others astray and not want you want in our environment considering it has taken us so long to finally get rid of the *smile* culture. Last year was an anomaly as he wanted to shove it up people's assets that he could play AFL football. That was his motivation. Not that he wanted to win at all costs or be an AFL player. He just wanted to stick it up people. Wrong reasons to be playing and once you prove your point motivation is gone. Seems like a player that plays for Sydney and Sydney only.
With list sizes reducing now is not the time to keep players on the list that have baggage.
Could have been anything but talent alone isn't enough anymore. Look at Bennell. Similar example.

He just proved every recruiter was right not wasting a national draft pick on him.
His ego is bigger then his ability.
Clubs can't afford disruptive types any more.
He just dosent work hard enough.
If we delist him, someone will pick him up and end up getting Bennel/Stengle headlines.
We aren't desperate anymore.

Hope he makes everyone eat their beanies.
I’m backing him in.
I like to hold onto my bundles until they become too heavy to carry.

If he ends up back in WA with his family you can bet he'll never pull on a Richmond jumper again.

I forgot until I saw something pop up recently that he finished 3rd in the rising star last year. Massive fall from grace in 12 months.

So we kept this guy on our list; gave him a contract, rookie or whatever. Then let Butler go?

Who would you choose now? Hope it doesn't come back to haunt us this final, like it already has in the H & A game. Butler made AA squad. Equal 9th in the Coleman - with Tom Lynch on 28 gs! Pretty handy return.

Sure Stack played a few good games in '19, but Butler had a lot more credits in the bank. Partly what is in my mind is the sort of posts that Stig and Caesar made on Stack over this year. Many other posters rejected or attacked these. I think it was bloody obvious what they were inferring.

All vindicated. I would have loved for Sid to really make the most of the incredible opportunity he was offered if he wanted to keep working hard. Could have made an amazing success story and set himself up for life.

Unfortunately, he may have blown his chances and threw it all back in our face. Poor Dan. As Cotch said in his interview earlier in the week, he never wanted to go, loved Tigerland and had great mates there.

Has one more year on his contract?

See how determined he is - see what shape he comes back for preseason training and decide then.
