Still giving us nothing...'cept Cups and Medals

Always seemed a bit of a wood duck. Went off the rails completely at the Aints. But speaking in tongues seemed to work for the boys from the City of Churches, go figure. :don't know

How poor is the talent pool in footy ex-spurts? They bat pretty shallow across the board. Daisy is probably the best thing to happen to footy commentary since Clinton Grybas. Geez I miss him.

I heard from someone who knew people at the saints ,

They were a little shocked once he started coaching there , about his lack of ideas or insight , just kind of went through the predictable motions

Big article by David king in hearld sun today, The Eagles are the real deal.
Same bloke, that wanted Lecras sacked mid year
Darling should be traded out

At the start of the week I didn't care if we lost this one, but as from last night I want us to slap them 10 goals.
We win this game, some of our players could have extended break before the finals.

Went on 360 this week with his revolutionary plan to beat Richmond, it basically boiled down to stop Rance (he's obsessed with Rance). Whenever he does his pontificating on the game I am reminded of his hysterical rantings during the Port game last year. During half time our season was done and dusted because Port had uncovered the blue print to nullify Alex Rance. It lasted for a half of football. Rance worked out what Port were doing, turned it around, gave his opponent and absolute bath and we won the game. Yes, David, Port had definitely given the rest of the comp the blue print for how to beat Rance and take the Tigers down.

Was he using that screen where you can pause the play and move players around and then be a complete expert with hindsight? My wife, who likes football but is no fanatic, once saw this and commented, "But you can't freeze time during a real game." :hihi

Yeh, Kingy has a habit of being consistently wrong when predicting events.

He is great at hindsight though.

Geez, sounds like Leysy ;D

Dunstall said last night if we win the whole comp will be going how do we possibly beat Richmond! I reckon he is just about spot on the money there.

Interesting game in that the worm has turned regarding media expectations. Who is the real test on this week?

Surly wet toast are favourites and the pressure is all on them. As much as any team becomes ‘due’ for a loss, we could still pull a win out of this.

Lose and we were due anyway. The comp breathes only a small sigh of temporary relief.
Win and the rest of the comp does indeed say...holy cr@p!

Mystic Meg is awful. Tipped Essendon for the flag in 2018.

Doofus of the highest order.

Sheedy is the only Essendon coach to win a final in 50 years. Essendon should fans should bow and hail the Mighty Tigers every time they drive along Punt Road.

Great stat.
Last time Essendon won a final : 2004 Elimination Final, beat Melbourne by five points.
Last time they won one without Sheedy coaching : 1968 Preliminary Final over Geelong, Jack Clarke coaching.

If you look at VFL/AFL history over the past 75 years (since the 1943 GF when we met each other), which Richmond was having a successful era, Essendon were down. and we were down when they were up.

Couldn't give a rats toss bag what he says....except for "I couldn't give a rats toss bag" which was by far the best thing he's ever said!

yeah pretty much part of general pop culture vernacular these days.

the whole league will be wanting us to lose, including AFLHQ. West Coast will eventually start dropping games away from home. But if we beat them over there, many will be asking "Richmond by how far," and start blaming us for how boring the comp is with 1 team dominating.

We are ones on a hiding to nothing!
Smash WC....proves we are the ones to beat.
Win close...still the best in the biz although moral victory goes to WC haaaaaa.
Lose it close....another good effort....(but Richmond have Qn marks pfffffttt)
Get smashed....WGAF that happened last year and we took home chockies!!
GO TAIGGGGZZZZ

How’s his preseason premier prediction going??!! ;D

To be fair, it's becoming more common to hear the media state "Richmond are the best team this year" without any qualifiers. I think we've crossed the point where people doubt us, unless it's for an agenda, to generate media columns, or Blight.

He had checked out from footy and was playing heaps of golf. Was it a million a year they offered him?

Blight claimed it was the same coaching style that won him b2b flags.
