Still giving us nothing...'cept Cups and Medals

Great stat.
Last time Essendon won a final : 2004 Elimination Final, beat Melbourne by five points.
Last time they won one without Sheedy coaching : 1968 Preliminary Final over Geelong, Jack Clarke coaching.

Lloyd's been making himself conspicuous lately. Could be a good replacement for Woosha. There's more long hands than deep pockets in their coterie to pay him out and appoint a beloved former champion to the box.

Don't get too carried away with Lloyds comments; he prefaced them by saying we were a basket case and laughing stock for 30 years.

Funny, those 30 years have nothing on his beloved druggies

Pretty sure it's been about 13 or 14 years since Essendrugs last won a final. The way they're travelling at the moment it won't be long before they've been a basket case for 30 years.

;D

Bet he wasn't laughing on semi-final day 1995.

Won't forget his comment about Richmond players being too skinny in a hurry. How did that work out for the Bombers?

I'd love someone to ask him about e.g. Riewoldt moving up the ground as required by the team, and contrast it with his own selfish reluctance to do so and subsequent undermining of the coach.

Arrogant culture. Happy for this club to continue making up the numbers for eternity.

Why not? Worked well last time. :rofl

Gotta love how this team was mocked and derided for years over a perceived lack of character (sometimes by us!), and now every hard-fought win is shrugged off as an expected result.

I must admit i am enjoying nearly every article and panel show discussion dropping in phrases such "like Richmond have done" or "like Richmond are doing" or other such similarly worded references.

I love hearing us being referred to as the Premiers, hearing this regularly now as well.

X2. All discussions lead to us. Classic examples on marngrook tonight. Discussion on what's wrong with essendon turned into how good we are, and how far they are from that.

Malcom blight again

He is a moron. For the supporters and those closely following the club it was clear Dimma, Gale and the Board were putting all the right building blocks in place to develop a strong, sustainable culture. The only thing missing was final wins. But the club was transformed from the mid-00's and it was very evident. And it was also guys like Newman, Maric (I am sure there are others) and to a lesser extent younger players like Cotchin/Riewoldt/Rance that were determined to see the place change.

One journo who picked up the change was Patrick Smith, who by blatantly criticising Essendon's culture he switched his allegiance to Richmond on the back of what we stood for - he had an amazing premonition of what was to come. But the not-so-bright dinosaurs like Blight, Lloyd and a few others could only see the richmond of the 90's.

Has anyone got a stat how many times did we slap north while he was playing there. He is still recovering,

Yeah had to laugh at Blight this morning, he's definitely got a burr in his pants from us, never forget those last quarter scenes in the GF, he looked like he was sitting on a cucumber such was the disbelief on his face. Too Funny. he can't let it go.

Blight must have a culture growing on his brain.

Listening to AW this evening. Coach of the year so far?

Adam Simpson...maybe Brad Scott. Then Lloyd says... wait for it...even though they're 11th it might yet still be Buckley.. :rofl

rlol @ Lloyd.... He is probably still trying to convince Ty Zantuck how great the culture is down at Esserdun.

Blight on 26 April 2018, before the Pies Tiges game, from www.aflnation.com.au:

Are Richmond going as well as what we think and are Collingwood better than what we’ve thought, it’s a fascinating game Sunday.

Blight said he’s been won over by Nathan Buckley’s coaching and loves the pace of the side he’s put together in the last few weeks.

The Collingwood team at the moment with that slick handball and the pace they’ve got, it’s crept up on you,” he said.

I think we’ve all queried Nathan Buckley at some stage about when they’re going to make the eight again, well write these names down, Sidebottom, De Goey, Stephenson’s brand new, Treloar, Varcoe and Murray, they are the quickest blokes in the league I reckon.

“Nathan Buckley I believe has changed his coaching and I believe he did it after his first two games.

Collingwood, now 11th, won 1 of their last 3 by barely surviving the Lions up North.

Flog.
