Steve Morris F/S

I love watching him run it out. Players have taken note of his hardness, too, and I don't think there's too many that want to get into a contest with him.

Need his toughness in the backhalf. We have some mentally fragile blokes atm so we need as much of his hardness to brush off on our backmen.

A great season. A big ticket for the recruiting department for going after him. Should play a minimum of 100 games. In retrospective, we did really well from the swap of pick swith GWS that delivered Morris to Tigerland.

What about Morris as a defensive forward?
The beauty of him is that he can play either end of the ground, but at present he's required as the guy to look after the opposition small forwards.

Had a great first season but has battled a bit in the NAB cup so far.
Skills have been off and looks a bit one paced.
Should we be worried about 2nd year blues yet?

Not at all!

I've noticed a bit of rust as well ToO. But I remember him being a bit like that last pre-season. His endeavour was great but he just looked like a bit of a hack, especially by foot. By round 3 or 4 he was breaking the lines and chipping neat little passes all over the place. Slow starter?

IMO there are three unorthodox but AFL level payers in Richmond's starting 21 atm. Dylan Grimes. Steve Morris and Jake King.

Champions are often unorthodox. Because they make their own rules to change a game. Other players, with less talent, take ownership with less success.

Activity levels distinguish Grimes, Morris, King when I watch the Tiges.

Morris is very near King right now. Grimes, just a baby, is already better than his seniors.

Success is one thing. But when you barrack for Richmond activity is crucial. (Remember 2001?)

Morris is probably in our top three to six for busy. Bring on the busy, peoples.

Well said Gonorrhea, Grimes look's gangly and boney but very effective.

Perhaps. His best is good enough but his pre season has been ordinary. He'll get a spot in the 22 for rnd 1 but the Blues smalls still worry me.

If you were choosing a side today, he wouldn't be in it.
He has been out of touch most of the preseason.
Like you said Carlton's small's are very good.
I can see Newman going to betts in round 1.
White on yarram & Ellis/conca on to Garlett

Morris hasn't even had any red bull yet, relax fellas. He'll be making the crowd go ooooooo round 1.

Like a wager on that! ;D

Kidding me surely. Morris is our best small backman we've had in a decade. Blues smalls can worry all teams, but they are very hot and cold players. Why do people make such categoric judgements on these meaningless pre-season games? When the real stuff is on, and the hard ball is there to get, Morris is the first one to put his hand up.

Kidding you how? I said his best is good enough but haven't been impressed by his pre season. Wouldn't have thought that was a joke.
I watch the performance of individuals in these practice games far closer than team performance and he's looked off to me.

Individual performances are meaningless in this practise game comp. Morris is a lock in for Round1, no questions at all. Very important player. You're already talking about 2nd year blues based on a couple of pre-season games.
