Still gave 100% but well beaten by Ebert. Backline is still a major concern.

Agree there but how many games has Morris played compared to Ebert? He will learn from that. Wouldnt worry on him just yet JB

No doubt in my mind Morris was carrying an injury for alot of the game.

IF we had another one like him...........IF ONLY!

Just wish some of the other players would play like he does.

Good player, just has to read the play a little better, but that will come.Definite keeper. :clap

He's been carrying that shoulder injury for a while now.

Got a real bath today.

I think Ebert was under instruction to not get involved in play. To make Morris decide if he was going to stay at hom on Ebert or attack the contest. Too many times today Morris got caught in between. And ran over and around the ball too many times.

But a fine first year and fills a need within our backhalf.

Had a brief chat with him before the game , got the feel the body was ready for a rest......sensational first year for a bloke coming into the system

I love his kamikaze style but it back fires too much.
He's been caught out a few times this season because he's trying to cover 2-3 opposition players that his team mates are supposed to be covering and today was another example of that. If only the rest of the team had as much desperation as he does!!

Massive concern. They fumble, bumble, fall over, turn over, get bent over far too often.

so annoying , especially Rance falls over all the time without fail.

Overrated. Plays way too loose.

what a load of rubbish - he's usually spoiling someone elses bloke as well as his own. He's the most honest player in our side.

Then he should stick to his own bloke. Ebert torched him today. It was embarrassing the amount of room he gave him.

First year player but mature age. Makes it difficult to gauge the improvement he has.

Morris is a two way player. And when the game was in the balance it was Morris who began to break from half back and take the game on.

A fit Ebert would easily be Richmond's second best forward. And given the quality of inside fifty afforded Port's forwards by the total lack of Richmond midfield pressure I'd say three was just the wrong side of the ledger for Morris.

A genuine footballer, built for the game and keen to play it. Didn't have many mates. And showed leadership. The first choice small defender on our list IMO.

Ive liked his attack on the ball all year etc wish we had a few more like him, but i to think he plays bit to loose at times and should work on that part of his game a bit more over summer , Ebert beat him well today but Morris has had a good year IMO.

Yeah, chances his arm but leaves himself wide open if it doesn't come off. Can see the opposition playing through his man more often unless he tidies up. Should be very satisfied after 21 games in his first season though.

Yes and no. I've never bothered to count 'em, but for every time he gets caught out there'd be a spoil or a run and carry that he has that he shouldn't have. I.e. the ledger evens out. A bit more work on strategy with the coaches and a bit more team play from the back 6 and he'll be in the starting 22 for a few years yet.

If nothing else, we have absolutely no one else who attacks a loose ball/contest in the back half like he does. IMO another Morris to our list would be fantastic.

That's kind of what I'm saying. Win one, lose one (and he's done better than that) isn't good enough for a backman. I love the way he plays as much as anyone else, but he'll be a better player when he tilts the percentages more in his favour. If it was Richmond c.2009, i.e. 5 wins and lots of floggings, he'd be under the microscope more often. Have watched a few games in the second half of the year with neutrals who, knowing little about him, have pointed out that he makes his share of errors.

Anyway I'm not potting him, more pointing out the general trend with 'new' players that supporters tend to downplay their flaws at first, e.g. Raines & King.
