Steve Morris F/S

Attacks the ball like mad man, but still gets pushed under ball and gets out marked by smaller players.
Ballayntne was best alongside Pavlich

Not sure if I was watching the same game but I thought Morris was good. Hurt his shoulder giving a nice bump to pavlich but came back on a did a job.

If only some of our higher profile players attacked the contest like him, we may have got the points today.

Yes watched that last goal several times and every time Balantyne put a hand in the middle of his back. Obviously if you are not attempting to mark its not a free kick. I hate that rule.

I'm sure Dimma will make this point when they review the game

Was beaten by Ballentyne today....who was one of their best.

Don't think so. Morris saved about 3 goals with desperate attempts. Ballantyne was reasonably influential but received 3 free kicks, not one of them was against Morris. Morris was great again.

I thought Morris played a good game, saved us a few goals and was very desperate as usual to create contests....
if everyone played like him we would have got the 4 points.
But the fact is Ballentyne was Freo's 3rd best player behind Pav and *smile*....2 goals and 5 scoring involvements.

Oh sorry didn't realise it was a fact. Better put it on wikipedia then ;D. Ballantyne had only 6 contested possessions, 5 clangers, 50% disposal efficiency, only 2 inside 50s, only 2 goal contributions. His 1st goal was poor marking but Morris did take a gamble to help out further up the gorund in that instance and two Tiger players furthe rback let Ballantyne get behind him. 2nd goal Morris was beaten vut even then it took a kick off the ground for Ballantyne to goal. Ballantyne did tackle very well but thought many of them did. Could name 5 players arguably ahead of Ballantyne yesterday. Morris easily top 3 for Tigers I thought.

ground level he attacked the game as some others
didnt attempt to do.

like this kid, displays TTS.

The three Richmond outs this week are Steven Morris, with a shoulder injury, Ty Vickery, leg injury, and Addam Maric, who has been omitted.

From the http://www.richmondfc.com.au/ website, wonder how bad the injury is to Morris?

I think this is a big loss for us - even against GWS. His attack on the ball would have put the wind up the kids.......

Agree with this. And if it's going to be wet we know his game stacks up.

Morris is certainly a loss. Is it just a short term injury?
He is a loss, but GWS don't have any dangerous small forwards and I think it's precautionary. Gives the likes of Connors a chance.

Was a massive loss today. Hard to believe after 10 games but Steve Morris is a walk up start in our best 22.
