Not such great signs for Newman. Coming under pressure from the younger brigade.

A few times he threw himself at the contest and ended up on the ground out the other side of the stoppage without collecting anyone or the ball - like a human gutter ball. I'm just about ready to put that down to first game nerves and over-enthusiasm now. He seems to be choosing his times to go to ground a bit better.
Has certainly gotten better but still going to ground a bit to much to my liking. He'll get better with experience, he's only played 4 games and has improved it a heap.TJsFurrow said:Noticed that in the first game Checkside. This is the 2nd post recently talking about McDOnald playing again. Have I missed something?zippadeee said:He dosent man up now, what makes you think he can playing in the midfield.
As for next year, hopefully Dmac starts playing down there.

Because it would be his job to man up.zippadeee said:He dosent man up now, what makes you think he can playing in the midfield.
Sintiger said:They highlighted him on OTC last night. He was ball watching when he should have been shoulder to shoulder with Christensen when the Cats scored their last goal. Roos wasn't too critical of him because he said it is a common mistake with inexperienced defenders but he has to learn from it.

yes i agree, he didnt have a really high possession game but his defence was really good I thought.smasha said:I saw that and was a bit non plussed because I was rapt with his game but that was out of character for him.
After the goal they show his face and he knows he made a mistake so he will learn from that experience.
Sintiger said:OTC highlighted that incident, jack's poor performance , the lack of outout of our key forwards, Bartel's desperation and how Geelong found a way to win. I came out of it wondering whether we had been beaten by 15 goals and I had missed something ???
