Steve Morris F/S

Every time I see this thread bumped I'm expecting the retirement announcement. While his footballing liabilities have been well-documented here, his workrate off the field have contributed greatly to the culture of the club.

You too. Snakey, don't go down to Brodder's level.

BTW first seven years of Dimma's tenure were the words. You need some sort of sample size for it to make sense.

In hindsight, Steve Morris' role as a defensive forward in 2014 (15?) was an early blueprint for our 2017 game plan. Steve Morris was the first forward picked primarily to apply defensive pressure.

Thank you Dimma for persisting with this innovative strategy for so long.

Morris ultimately wasn't capable of playing the role long-term, but the lessons learnt from this trial have no doubt aided Richmond in making the Grand Final in 2017.

Jake King was the blueprint.

As a VFL listed player or AFL listed player? I'm assuming you mean the former.

Stevie's a great club man. I'm glad he's staying on with the VFL and thank him for his years of service to our club.

He always put his body on the line for the Tigers and that deserves respect.

Anyone that watched the VFL finals would agree with your comments mate. Tuff as nails!

Not just finals, he's been sensational always.

He had a massive year in the VFL, heart and soul type player. He has a habit of being ineffective with the ball, and sometimes even with his tackling, but the way he gets the rest of the boys going, the way he commits 100 percent (sometimes more than - the over commitment in his tackling/chasing is what causes the lack of effectiveness at times), the way he directs people, gets around them and leaves nothing out on the park is absolutely huge for the seconds team. He is a real culture driver, and you couldn't ask for much better to watch over the kids in development.

If he is a solely VFL listed player next year, hopefully they make him captain.

So that looks like so far off the list are
Maric
Morris
Yarran

2-3 more will need to come off , Ben Lennon might be saved if 1 of Lloyd,Batchelor,Miles are traded as Elton will surely be delisted

Good VFL player, and I think he'll be in the leadership group back there.

Gave his absolute heart for the club. Had one pretty good year down back, the rest were a mix up of poor decisions by the coaching panel and injuries.

Glad he won't be in considerations for our starting 22, as he wasn't quite at the level. Would transplant his heart and toughness though into some other players we've had through the joint.

Played for the club and for that well done.

Was a back pocket who we tried to turn into something he wasn't.

Going to be valuable for the VFL side and would imagine find himself in the leadership group.

Could never doubt his love for the jumper, club, attack on the ball or man.
