Steve Morris F/S

I read somewhere that Cameron said they had a specific role in mind for Morris, I suspect it will be as a tagger. Could be a replacement for Jackson/Tuck.

Do you see that as being effective from the start of the season? Apparently Cameron claimed he'd opened negotiations with Tucky's manager for a new 1 year contract and I've been told Dan is a required player next season. It doesn't make sense to me, but then again I don't see Shane and Dan in the same side as being mutually exclusive like some seem to.

I would think he would start off as a lock down player in the backline on small fwds.

Would think it would be a lock-down defender we desperately need. Jacko as tagger which he should be and Tucky as an inside mid. Helbig should be groomed to take over from these guys. But a long way to go before that happens. IMO we are in a position now where we play our best team until someone can take their spot.

Didn't look much like a tagger in his highlights to me. I was hoping he'd be good enough to take on more of Deledio's role, freeing him up to play more midfield and forward.

Deledio to the midfield? interesting idea. what do others think about that?

It's certainly an idea out of the box, but it does have some merit.

My mind goes blank when I see Deledio and Forward in the same sentence. It brings back painful memories of Wallace declaring Lids didn't have the mental strength to play midfield and instead proclaimed him to be the next gun CHF.

But the thought of Lids, Cotch and Martin being mids resting in the forward line is almost erotic.

Really excited by this pick up. From the vids and audio on RFC, he looks and sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders.

That's all well and good.

Lets just hope he's got football skills & smarts to go with it!

Looks like Mitch Farmer....hope he doesn't play like him!

Where you bin ? Was expecting more comment to date. Personally, the Club appears to have done a decent deal on this - no big tradeoff at this stage. Only time will tell if moving back one spot in the draft was significant or not. Looks a sensible deal to me at the moment.
