Steve Morris F/S

Was beaten one on one more often than not. Disposal by foot was also limited to short, sideways 20m kicks. I didn't think he added much to the team this week and thought he would be subbed off. As much as I like him, I think that Matt Dea would have been a better inclusion this week.

Not at the game I was at.

He was definitely hesitant with his kicking early on - seemed to gain in confidence though as the game went on. Dea? Doesn't seem like he's going to get another shot at the seniors.

Morris will play again next week and deserves to. Another tick for Dimma and the selection crew.

Not from what I saw. Easily his best performance of the season. I thought one on one he did ok. He still goes to ground too regularly but he did quite well today. Think the thinking seemed to be a direct matchup for Matera / Martin when they were forward. I'd expect him to play on Elliot next week.

I thought he was poor, nowhere near his 2013 form. I think that's gone forever. He may have looked okay against poor opposition, but a better side will make us pay for his inclusion.

He did his job. Much to the dismay of a few posters.
Hopefully he can step up again to his 2013 form. Seeing he's still got another couple of years on his contract.

Pass mark for today's game
His best this season but that's not saying much.

Will he be back next week?

He'll be in for as long as Grimes is out I'd say.

He wasn't as bad as the rest of the games he's played this year but let's be realistic; the bar is set extremely low.

Just can't trust him with ball in hand. There was one play in the first quarter where he was strolling out of the backline, PRE Member's side under no pressure and put it 5 metres over the boundary line. Didn't go near a Richmond player. Looked like he was trying to pass to someone in row 12 but missed that target as well.

Can't carry this bloke in finals.

The name of this thread reads for me every time "Steve Morris FFS", should we change it? Seems apt.

Some harsh critics on here. Was only Gold Coast, but I thought Morris well and truly earnt his spot. Definitely keeps his place until Grimes returns.

That will be next season.

was fine today..is okay on the backline,,keeps his spot until grimes comes back,,,,,,today was only the suns ,but he did his job ok

Don't tell Cartman Morris played OK, he'll start complaining that you don't understand the "finer points of the game".

Played his part in the biggest winning margin we've had for a long while.

Yep - showed that his value is in the backline rather than forward.
But he's not first choice there and must make way for Grimes for sure.

Well done Morris I was one who said big mistake u coming in. You played your role well.
before the game I promised myself to bit my tounge if you did anything wrong and to cheer when you do something good.. I never bit my tounge once. Well done.
