Which begs the question since he has now been dropped twice recently this year, is Morris no longer doing all this. Or is it just he's given Morris more leeway because of his traits but now has run out of patience like many of us had already early on in the season? Or did McDonough and Lennon impress so much in the last game to force the change?

When someone is seen trying to do what he's been instructed to do, he gets some leeway to see if he can get there. But eventually the opportunities end.

I believe this is the crux of many head scratching selections. Beavis and the committee would rather pick a player seen trying to deliver what has been asked rather than a more talented player who doesn't follow instruction.

Downgrade him to a rookie on the same salary and let him provide his leadership to the VFL team.

Is that possible? If so, would do it for 2016. His time has come. The gig is up.

Looks like the VFL team as well as the senior team benefited from him having the week off and not playing.

Isn't that what we did with Arnott?

Otherwise, with a supposedly shallow draft we let him clog the list for another year and then we delist him a year before his contract ends and free up a spot on the list then.

From what I know about Arnott, he was actually delisted and then picked up as a rookie for this season. If we tried to do that to Morris when his contract still has time to run the players association would have a conniption over it.

It's sad to see such a physically intimidating player drop away this year (and some of last).

In 2013, he was becoming a favourite son of the club. Has all the best traits you want in a footballer apart from attacking smarts. Skills were serviceable in the back pocket and that's where he should provide support next year, then reassess before 2017.

His hardness up forward hasn't rubbed off on the more skilful Lennon types, which was the most important thing I thought he'd achieve for us at the start of the year. Instead, he hasn't influenced them at all to become harder themselves. It's been a wasted year for the medium forward position on our list. Motlop the ideal successor.

cant see why it couldnt be done. you can delist guys under contract. you just have to pay them out.
so i would guess we could say he will be delisted and give him the choice of being rookied and leaving. if we wanted to.

Can't play but has been played in a position that is ridiculous - defensive forward.
This leaves a side one forward short.

Amazing stat   Got the same number of kicks (zero) when he didnt play in the VFL as he did when he played against Carlscum

I heard he did a star jump every time we kicked a goal too, all be it from the grandstand.

How did he manage to stowaway on the plane to Adelaide and then get his training gear on & jump the fence to join in?
Security at the airport and at the ground in question There should be an inquiry!

Did he have a boogie board with him?

I know its a great effort by any player to make it to AFL level and I do applaud them all
But I do not know how a player can have so many chances and still not deliver.
All I can see is Hardwick wants to give him as much chances as possible to get him into form and playing to what he thinks he can get to...
I think its unfair and a slap in the face to players playing well in the VFL.

but end of the day I'm just a supporter as we all are

b2

I agree B2 Surely from a club development point of view those who get the opportunity need to be those who are playing well in the second level not players who have not delivered in the past in the ones and not delivering in the seconds.
Most be a tremendous bloke because his performance does not deserve all the chances he gets
