Steve Morris F/S

Selection is cleverly to tag Yarran or Simpson

If weren't playing carlton he wouldn't have been picked

If he can make Carlton's most important player visibly sh!t himself and turn to jelly, he'll help us win.

He has been selected because it's Carlton. It is reasonable.

Makes perfect sense. It was getting difficult to find a designated whipping boy for a while there.

Surely you're not referring to Yarran. He's been very average this year. We seemed to handle the Swans ok without him, why not have him in to handle Rhyce Shaw or Jarryd McVeigh, or last week to handle Ryan Griffen or Heath Shaw? His selection is a joke.

But do you honestly believe he deserves a game ahead of others in the VFL Mr Bear?

The coach clearly likes him.

We have won 17 out of our last 23 games.

Maybe, just maybe, the match committe is right and we're wrong?

No.

We're right.

He's been given a game based on previous AFL form, which is a factor. But if he keeps his spot against the Saints, this question is warranted.

If he's been selected as a one-off to tag Yarran, that's okay by me.

Yarran had what, 3 rushed disposals in 3 quarters last time? It was the most girly performance I've ever seen, personally.

That is surely a joke? I don't need to discuss his form at AFL level over the last two years - it speaks for itself.

He had 18 disposals. You're thinking of Morris who had 3 disposals for the game.

He has AFL form specifically in a tagging role on Yarran against Carlton. His selection is reasonable, I'm not saying it's great that he's been selected, just that it's a decision grounded in reason.

Must have been last year. At the time, his harassment of Yarran was applauded on here I'm pretty sure.

Last year Morris played backline. It was Round 2 and Yarran had 21 disposals and kicked 3 goals.

If Yarran kicked 3 goals against us this year, then it's unlikely Morris was playing on him as a forward himself. So it might have been last year when Morris was a defender and Yarran was a forward then.

But anyway, the point is Morris is a great matchup for Yarran. Wouldn't you agree?

If Yarran plays forward, we might have selected Morris to play back pocket. Either way, I hope it's a hard tag, wherever he plays.

On Morris's poor form this year, no I don't think it is a good match-up. Yarran has been average this year and we've been able to carry younger players against better opposition so don't see why Morris should continually be gifted games reagrdless of performance (even at VFL level).

Coaches must think very little of the Blues, we've kindly decided to play with one less player.

And at least 5 pressure acts because he gave up 5 frees.
