Was just talking to a friend of mine who reckons GWS were delighted to shaft Port Adelaide after they forced them to pay for Brogan and Cornes .

If true Sinner it's a nice bit of work from GWS.
Move forward one space in the first round, clip Port because they're pricks for free and garner a smidgin of goodwill from Tigerland, because thats what win - win trading is all about.

This is an unbelievable effort. One trade spot for a SANFL proven mature-age tough nut who can play back or midfield. Whether he becomes a good player or not is not the issue. We are playing the perecentages, taking on players with excellent skills and not paying over-the-odds. I am super impressed with this move.

Perception Gia . GWS are of the belief that they didn't need to pay for Brogan and Cornes because they had retired and under some pressure to do by Port Adelaide . They believe that they should not have to pay anything for players who had retired .
Doesn't matter what we think would have been fair , it's what GWS thinks.

yep . For the record I actually always believed that the AFL would force compensation anyway even if a deal wasn't done between Port and GWS . Not because Port necessarily deserved it but because if they didn't what would stop someone "retiring " and mysteriously changing their mind and appearing on the Giant's list .
