Steve Hocking

Umpiring: worse than I’ve ever seen it.
MRO: joke.
Rules on the fly: total confusion and frustration.
Visuals of the game: no better than when he started.
AFLX ?: hah hah hah.

All up, the worst GM of Football Ops the AFL has ever had. Good **** riddance.

The joy of Shocking leaving has been removed with the thought of Brad Scott taking over. It can't happen surely.

I am as happy as the rest of you that this *smile* is heading down the highway BUT if you reckon anything is going to change, I have a very nice bridge to sell you

It appears Brad Scott has only gotta rock up to AFL House..... TELL his close mate McLachlan what his terms of employment will be.... then come back at the end of the year to begin reaming us all over again.

I'm thinking he may even be a bigger cabbage than Hocking. ... and that's saying something!

I'm sure every other team (except Geelong) feel the same way that we do.

This clown was a blight on the game.

Every other club stoked this oxygen thief has departed, yet we are still force fed how great he's been.

Can't remember a bigger disconnect between fans and AFL house. Even the Demetriou years weren't this bad

Will whomever replaces him, repeal all the changes he introduced during his ill conceived reign?
Nah. Brad will just add another layer of *smile* on top of all the other previous layers of *smile* as his own personal contribution on how to fix the game.

Surely Gill wasn't being serious with what he stated in the AFL article, if he believes half of the crap that he said then he can go aswell.

"
"It is a relentless job, but Steve has made an enormous contribution to the AFL and the wider AFL industry during his time in the role," McLachlan said.

"He is a values-driven leader who has brought calm, confidence and consistency to the operations of football across the AFL, AFLW, VFL, VFLW and NAB Leagues and his approach is much respected and valued by his colleagues and the wider industry.

"He has brought improvement to every aspect of the game, whether it's the growth of the NAB AFLW competition, the expansion of mental health and welfare initiatives across the clubs, rule changes that have opened up the game and made it more spectacular, the development and implementation of the ARC and the ongoing development of umpires.

"The football being played in this AFL season, and the earlier AFLW season, have each been exceptional and that is a testament to the work of Steve and his team.

"This is a great opportunity for Steve and the Geelong Cats for the next step in his career and he goes with our gratitude and blessings and I know he will continue to contribute to the industry in his role at clubland."
FMD. Has SHocking been keeping Gilligans bed warm for him on these cold winter nights?

Every footy forum I'm on they generally dislike him and think the same as we do here.
Have you seen the Facebook post from the AFL about Hocking leaving?
Hundreds of posts and I could not see one positive post about Hocking.
Hate to be the admin, a lot a work trying to keep it clean.

Watching Blobbo and all the footy shows tonight blowing wind up his arse about how good a job he has done, makes me want to throw up! Do they have any idea what the football public think?

Sycophants. One of the key reasons so many in the media are held with complete disdain. Listening to Lyon and Healy was spew worthy - until it became comical when Healy started criticising the rules and umpiring later in the show !!!

The truth lies with the public - the true owners of the game.
