I actually thought the backline structure looked OK with a big FB down there. Certainly allowed us to free up Thursty to quell Milne, which prior to the match I would have thought was not a great move but Will did very well. Having the big body down there allows us to throw around our match-ups a little more.
What we lacked though was effective rebound out of defense (allong with our midfield pressuring the opposition ball carrier). We really need Rance to step into this role. If he does, then we can go with a big bodied FB (not saying that should be Silvestor OK, would like someone with better speed off the mark) and we have the makings of a very nice defensive unit.
I think we should keep the backline like this for a few weeks to see if it can work for us.
