Interesting that a big fella like Hampson hasn't had a mark in our last 2 games and only averages 1 mark per game. He averaged 4 last year with the Blooze.

Rosy, this bloke matches the like of Trent knoble, Ben Marsh and Angus W graham.
He is No good.

Disagree that he was terrible against Brisbane, 52 hit outs with 37% being to our advantage are hardly numbers to scoff at. Granted, he's been spilling gettable marks but I'll put this down to confidence, his form in the first couple of games were good, I expect him to bounce back strongly this week.

I reckon all he has to do, Bully, is work harder defensively at ground level. Hunt a few pygmies. He's quick and a big strong lad. If he lays a few bone crunching tackles his confidence will soar and he will be truly involved in the game.

Yep, that pretty much sums it up, he did exhibit some of those traits in the preseason & against GC. The one guy who I think we can draw some comparison with is Zach Clarke from Freo, in the early days he appeared to be something of a church mouse, a shy and retiring type who languished on the fringes. His form in the latter half of 2013 took a dramatic turn, he became more of a hunter and a defensive weapon. The best part about this transformation was that his marking prowess also seemed to lift a notch or two. Suddenly he was splitting packs and hauling in spectacular one touch grabs. I know Hampson has a touch of the butter fingers at present, but I also know he's better than this. He is a capable overhead mark, his 2012 form illustrated this. Eventually things will click, maybe it will take a run of good form from the entire team to lift Hampster out of the doldrums. As cliched as it sounds, patience is required, the confidence genie will soon return.

At the cross-roads already. Last year's draft will go down on par as the 2004 draft, shocking. Lennon will be the exclusion.

Sounds like he has a bit on his plate. He must be a tad muddled. Must be hard to perform at work under the glare of thousands when all u want to do is have some time to think.

Sorry Bully, Hamster is what he is. A very god tap ruckman, who is average body on body and poor around the clearances once his initial tap is done. Basically the alter-ego of Ivan at his best.

This aint gunna change now my man.

The same thought has crossed my mind, only I was thinking more the 2008 draft….."locked and loaded"! We drafted Ty, Post, traded our third rounder for Adam Thomson and went with Hislop with our last pick!
The Rookie Draft was even worse!
Only Ty remains :spin

Therefore a full review of the football department is critical right now! Francis Jackson is eligible for the aged pension so it's time for him to be moved on and find another replacement. More money is required to be pumped into the recruiting department. Time for Benny to write up some cheques and invest in this area.

I've been saying this for 15 years.
you can't draft or you waste picks on recycled duds, because state of the art faculties won't help.
Where's all the profits going??
We need a real recruiter. Jackson can't draft past pick 10 and Hartley just looks at hacks from other clubs wasting our picks.
I've always said if you use 5 picks on kids you have a better chance of finding a GEM then only using 1 or 2 picks..

Playing mainly as a forward

Can we protest?
We want our pick 28 back!
Francis Jackson needs to go . Greg becks brother

I wouldn't have a clue where he took his marks. What do you think about 0 marks in our last 2 games? I see Shaun taking a few marks as an area that could help improve our performances.

Rosy, your not taking about Greg Stafford or brad ottens. This bloke is a liability. It was a shocking decision to trade for him.
He will have the same influence on games that Ben Marsh & Trent Knoble gave us. zilch!

Hampson has had no impact as a forward.
Apart from the actual rucking contests, it seems Hampson has little contribution to make to the team in other aspects of the game around the ground.
More than happy to be proven wrong if/when he turns it around (and maybe recent personal events have been key to this).
But given the Tigers have him for three seasons now it would be hoped that we see and get more out of this player over the journey than is currently being witnessed.
