he simply needs to take more grabs around the ground. that is all.

On a wet day I wouldn't be too harsh, again, I think that will come with a bit more experience. He's not a great mark but he the marking mojo is hidden away somewhere.

I hope you're right, Bully. Happy to defer to your view on him.

This. Though the conditions were greasy today, he hasn't clunked many this season period.

couldnt possibly have the Griffo/TV combo. How soft do you want our rucks to be. At least Hammo uses his body and can direct a tap out. I reckon hes been ok so far. Cant wait for Ivan to come back . hope we haven't slaughtered him last year

I thought he was one of the reasons we got back in the game today - wasn't a day for big man marks (unless your Harry Traylor cause he took a boot full on them today)

I just went over some footage of his 2012, paying particular attention to his overhead capabilities. There is some talent there, I just tend to think it's a confidence thing, not sure why he's so down but at some stage it's bound to click. He was really fumbley in 2013 as well so in a 12-18 month period things seem to have capitulated. What I hope and what I expect Hartley was hoping for is for him to return to his form of 2012, it's hard to know exactly what is holding him back but I suspect extended periods as a ruckman can only assist him in recapturing his confidence.

Thought he was brilliant today when he went off the ground for a rest.
Shame he kept coming back on.

Hampson is more a stop-gap measure than a long-term solution for the Tigers. He simply isn't dynamic enough and his involvement in the game is minimal outside of his tap work.

Jumping from a 2nds ruckman in one club and placed under pressure as the 1st ruckman in another club's seniors.

Yeah, it's a massive responsibility and given it's a role he's unaccustomed to one can only hope he still has some improvement left.

Age is on his side, and it'll be more assessable when Eevarn returns and combines.

Their was a passage of play today when I was laughing at how slow Hampson was. He was in slow motion.

That aside he has been okay and a decent backup ruckman that was worth the punt. However the use of a second rounder was probably a round to high for him.
