I answered no on this yesterday, but with McGuane going I think he'd be an OK pick up.

???

Re: poll: Shaun Hampson

No

Next year he will be out of contract - no trade picks, just right $$. If Carlton's required player gets a game at all next year.

Re: poll: Shaun Hampson

To all those that replied NO, it would be interesting to hear who else they think we should target as another genuine ruckman who 1. Is ready to go now, 2. Is prepared to move, 3. Won't cost us a draft pick under 35, 4. Is entering the prime of his career, like Hampson.
I don't believe there are many, if any, reasonable choices under the above scenario apart from Hampson, but happy to be proven wrong.

When I voted no I didn't really have an answer to that question, I was just hoping that there was someone better out there! :)

Maybe West from Geelong?

i haven't voted but would be interested to know if those who think we should get hampson think we should also keep orren and the developing rucks we have on the list.

Regardless it all gets down to this career thing you talk about. If he can't take a mark and kick a goal, or stay free from injury then "prime" becomes an interesting word.

I'd prefer Simpson from Geelong.

Because Orren is on the rookie list I would keep him even if we brought in a guy like Hampson and drafted a young ruck unless we have our eye on a mature guy in a state league to replace Orren on the rookie list.

how does that work juffa. he's on the senior list on the rfc website.

Re: poll: Shaun Hampson

It's finally over. Hampson is heading to hawthorn
Thank god

He was upgraded last year along with Petterd because we had space but I was under the understanding that he reverts back to his drafted rookie status for the start of the next season. If not... gone for me and redraft him to the rookie list again. No way I would give up a spot on the main list for him now.

Re: poll: Shaun Hampson

There is a lot of word going around that the Big Boy is available. Would require a first rounder though and not sure if he's quick enough for the position moving forward. Good player though.

First rounder for Hampson? Are you kidding me? The bloke is an absolute dud and would be the biggest whipping boy if he came across.

Hard to take you seriously zipper when you throw crap like this out!

What are you on? McEvoy is a gun ruckman
Collingwood gave away pick 8 or 9 for wood and wood was a care bear compared to McEvoy.
Pick 12 on its own wont do it,

They revert back to the Rookie List. Clubs have the opportunity to upgrade to the primary list, retain their Rookie status or delist, etc. they don't remain on the Senior (primary) List, regardless on how they are described on club websites, that only shows their status when (temporarily) upgraded

-------Thursday 31 October by 2pm - list lodgement (1); rookie promotion to primary list; retained second and third-year rookies; scholarship players; alternate talent player nominations.---------

Re: poll: Shaun Hampson

yep.
and agree with Jaffa, unless we are going to rookie another ready to go ruck, i would keep O on the rookie list.

McEvoy for a 1st rounder? mmmm. very tempting

Pick 12 on its own wont do it,

What am I on?

Getting McEvoy would be fantastic, just throwing Foley & Grimes in just to bang on & on dilutes any point you may have.

If pick 12 alone can't get it done then it doesn't get done & anyway our first pick, IMHO, should be kept as we are on a roll with it.
Get the best player available.

Any talk about Jolly?
Surprised his name hasn't been mentioned in the media.
