I think Megan and their child would have that covered. No, I've always backed the underdog; it's some sort of instinct in me. Posted in defence of other players who I think get hard done by at times e.g. Ben Griffiths, Andrew Moore.

Oh well that puts that love triangle rumour to ...ahem... bed

You come back with nothing but hot air, Bill. Never mind, that was the answer I expected.

Hot air, that's exactly what Hampson taps the ball into. Well spotted.

Then he would come in very handy in 2017 knocking the ball out into the open spaces. We will finally have a few players with speed to run onto it with the addition of Butler and maybe Castagna included with Rioli from 2016 and Edwards (who has always had pace and smarts), plus Prestia and Caddy.

Nankervis will be supported by a far superior midfield. I think you need that pointed out to you, Bill.

If you want to take a love triangle to bed, TigerLOVE, that's entirely up you ... I mean, up to you. Just be careful; they can have pointy ends.

:hihi

LOL he had the same midfield as Ivan rucked to and couldn't manage it last year.

Incorrect, Bill. Eevan's midfield included guys like Tuck and Jackson; sorely missed hardball-get and tough in and under, tackling midfielders.

Many clubs went past us last year, as their selections and development bore far richer fruit e.g. GWS, Dogs (more 2015), Dees, Saints etc.

One player doesn't make a team, Bill. But ... whatever.

Tuck finished in 2013, Jackson in 2014. I gave you a comparison of 2015 and 2016 earlier on this thread. One player may not make the difference, but he was the only different player in the clearance setup in those two years and the numbers are stark.

You may wax lyrical my friend but you lax empirical.

2014 is your petrie dish. First half season Hampson rucks 3 wins. Second half Maric rucks 9 wins. Same midfield.

If only we recruited Petrie instead of Hampson.

Second half of the season we played different to the first after Jacks foot in mouth comments.
Our change in game plan was responsible for 2014 results not the ruckmen.

Right, Chops, and you wax lyrical about Nankervis. However, very negative about RFC overall under Dimma. So, tell us how well we are going to go in 2017. No Hampson, so surely a certain top-8 result is coming our way. Give us your prediction - just how high?

You seem a touch contradictory to me. But a poor team performance will be down to DH, nothing to do with Nank, of course?

Prefer "The Thoughts of Chairman Leon" and published too, in a little yellow and black book.

I will sign yours gratis UK .. collectors' item. You deserve some compensation for living over there.

Jack was one of the catalysts for the change no doubt . Never waivered in his belief.

Yep, like that one, Bill. But you are slack empirically. So were Tuck and Jackson there for 2014-2016? Our midfield became slow, static and soft TBH. What you, along with other facile thinkers, fail to factor in is that other sides jumped past us as their midfields benefited from well-selected and developed, maturing players.

You think one variable was so all-determining. Spare me.

So, Bill, as I said to Chops. Now we have lost Hammer to LTI and have Nankervis ready to fire up, where will we finish? According to your one-man theory of AFL ascension, we must be headed for glory.

Back up your lyrical empirical, Bill. Premiers in '17?

Not responding to the challenge in post #4814 though Chops?

So now he's out; Nank is in, where will we finish? Surely top 4? No excuses left? One man makes a team, right?

[But our 2017 team will differ markedly from '16 with several new players]

Ladder position is not my argument never has been, neither was 2014 for that matter, but happy to revisit hitouts vs clearances at the end if the year. Here is a simple one dimensional question for you. Would you replace a fit Nank with a fit Hampster?
