I recall plenty having the same reaction when we picked up Maric, swapped out Collins for Grigg/Houli etc..
Let's just wait and see before calling Blair an idiot again. His track record is admirable and deserves the benefit of the doubt.

Welcome Shaun.

I'll certainly support him, I'm just very concerned that we are underestimating the depth of this draft. However, if we get another second rounder all will be forgiven, hopefully a combo of White/McGuane/Nahas can deliver the goods.

It's a tough gig this Richmond recruiting.

People seem to expect superstars whether it be trading or draft picks. The fact is its impossible for them all to be superstars and you need to look at needs, potential and facts.

Hampson fills a need, is at the right age to have an immediate impact, has a lot of potential and when he plays is at least a very decent tap ruck man. He hasn't cost the earth and any decent ruck normally costs a lot.

Hampson hasn't yet shown to be a dominant goal kicking ruck (if he had he wouldn't be a mid 2nd rounder) but he has shown, when he is on the park, he can at least give first advantage to his mids. He is coming into the age bracket where he knows his body and his attributes (athleticism etc) indicate that if he reaches his full potential.... well who knows what he can become.

Getting first use of the pill is a massive advantage for any team and Hampson can do that for us, especially if Mullet Man's body doesn't hold up.

Welcome about Shaun and Megan - your in for the one hell of a ride.

A little intrigued by this one.

The prospect of hit outs to advantage over four quarters is tantalising.

IF we play two rucks.

Can anyone confirm whether compo for White and McGuane would be a likely 2nd rounder?
If so, seems a good exchange.

Can't have too many 200/100 blokes IMO. Considering what we got for Angus graham, seems about the asking price for a 25 yo underachieving ruck man. I'm pleased on balance and fingers crossed he hits his straps at 26. Megan gale obviously saw something in the big fella. Welcome Shaun.

Doesn't look a great trade IMHO at first , however when having a close look at all the strengths an weakness's BH would have been identifying with Hampson, I can see a similar pattern to his other quality pick ups.

His a Tiger now an that's all that matters.....better get early to get B & F tickets ;D

No way. You don't add them up. We will probably get zero for both of them.

Totally understand going for Hampson but really surprised at the price we paid. Hartley had done a good job in recent years so hopefully I am wrong on this one.

Way too much common sense in that post Colonel :clap

Unless Megan is gonna lace up some boots and teach Robbie to kick over 50 on the run shouldn't have any bearing on why BH recruited her, I mean Hampson, best of luck to him! He's a tiger now. Get him on the park and let's see what he can do. The fact she will look spectacular in Richmond colours is just a bonus.

Or the new Richmond sees something that you don't, just sayin'.

Maybe but I will put my money where my mouth is. If this turns out to be a bust at the end of next season then I will not be renewing any of our familys memberships but if it is succesful I will buy another one.

Hampson has done nothing in my opinion to warrant a second round pick be used and I for one am a little bit disappointed(ok a lot disappointed) that we traded a second round pick for a back up. We were told that TFTF was in part to lure players maybe I was under the wrong impression but I was hoping for top players. Taylor Adams is available and where are we apparently not in the ball park because we are after a third string ruckman.

Come down to the Richmond football club,
Can't kick, can't tackle, can't mark.. Your perfect!!
+ will pay you a small fortune

what if we win the flag but Hampson doesn't get a game ;D

I wouldn't stop at the family membership boycott though, why not fire up the old manure truck?

According to Richardson he isn't back up. He will play second ruck.

If we win the flag and Hampson doesn't play wouldn't that be a tie? Waste of a pick with no young player coming through but a flag so yeah tie.

Would be no manure trucks left to get if it is a bust.
