Statistically he improved. 13 disposals (4 kicks 9 handballs) @ 62% DE. 33 metres gained....
0.2 behinds all in 82 TOG. 28 HO with 9 to advantage @ 32% HOTA.

Still a terrible footballer.

He took an overhead mark with a jump last night, so his confidence is improving

Hampson was okay last night, but he's far too inconsistent, he'll probably be bloody awful next week. One thing that didn't change was his kicking for goal. In both of those instances Vickery made space for him on one occasion and Griffiths in the other, it would have been preferable if Hampson had blocked for those guys. Vickery definitely would have kicked it and Griffiths probably a better chance than Hampson. Still delist material at seasons end.

Can't agree with the Vickery one. Hampson was coming in from a different angle and was alone with the ball coming straight at him. Vickery was coming in on an angle with a player hot on his hammer. Right play but Hampson should simply kick them when they're not far out straight in front.

The problem is that he never has and never will. He was exactly the same at Carlton.

Did OK. If he can maintain that deserves a run... problem is he can go missing for a whole game.
Maintain it are the words, Ant. He doesn't. He'll be okay for a game or two, but then drops away again. And even when he is okay he can't buy a goal.

There needs to be a team rule that if Hampson has a free or has taken a mark (which I know is unlikely) within 50m of goal someone needs to take the handball and kick the goal. Seriously, this guy is like Casboult, and we cannot undo the work of getting the ball in the forward 50 by allowing him to shoot at goal.

I think he handballed off once to Houli, who missed. Right idea though.

It's a funny game, d55.

He did very well on Mrs Grundy. And yeah, I suppose he did embarrass Grundy for his cowardice all night, giving him at least three don't argues at CBs.

And then Brodie Grundy kicked the winning goal. Playing small.

Hampson was ok.
Hamster woulda been a superstar if only he'd made one of his shots at goal.

Pretty sure it was Houli

I thought so too, Houli, kicking to our end and missed with a behind left. That really fixed it!!!

The idea is probably to hand it off to a guy that kicks the goal.

I was thinking more specifically of the 2 opportunities closer to goal - one of them Menadue was right behind him when he kicked and missed.

Was good. Aggressive in the ruck and at the contested ball. I much prefer a bloke who consistently wins ruck contests. He has a pretty good leap on him as well. Improved on last week and will continue to improve if Dimma keeps playing him.

Such a schizoid thread here most recently. While many are pointing out rightly that Hampson played his best game for us Friday night, for others it's just pour on the ridicule more than ever. He beat Kruezer for hit-outs first game and totally owned Grundy, competed the best I've ever seen him at ground level, winning some balls, even tackling and being the most aggressive I've ever seen. All this while apparently hurt and carrying a leg injury .. for which he stayed on the ground, played out the match, doing by far most of the rucking.

So maybe all the keyboard warriors here would prefer it if he'd put in a shocker (as he has done before). You might remember though, he struggled last year because he needed operations on both ankles, now trying to get going again; so we saw improvement from Bloos game consistent with that.

Sure, he's clumsy and will never be a skilful footballer, but he jumped and marked it friday. Really tried hard to kick those goals, watch his concentration, and just hit the post with 2nd one. But he deserves all the crap because ... he was the only one who missed a gettable shot, was he?

Sure he was caught out at the end, THE WHOLE TEAM stuffed up!!!!!!!!!!!!! How good was Houli's technique on smothering Grundy's kick within a metre?

Did you actually notice the horribly biased umpiring we received again (so AFL can ensure the Filth don't miss finals again - their biggest revenue team).

Shaun was far from our worst player in that match and he only deserves his share of the blame with the rest of the team, and coaching panel.

He did give away 3 or 4 really lazy frees.

His hitouts mostly led to Collingwood clearances.

He was two suburbs away from Grundy in the third when he kicked a gimme goal running into the square,

One of his marks he stole from a leading Vickery just so we could witness his magnicent set shot routine rather than a Vickery goal.

Every minute he plays two football loving fairies die.

Oh and did I mention he still hasn't mastered primary (footy) motor skills like catching and kicking , let alone advance skills like kicking it to a teammate or facing the right way.

Probably worst footballer to play the game this century and that includes Fatty Farmer or give me a house Taylor.
