Ps. Grundy is useless, can't believe there were so many on here that wanted us to pick him.

He might be useless but at least he got to the right position and he kicked the winning goal against us.

Hampson hasn't got the smarts for that.

Hampson is reflective of why the RFC is such a mediocre football club.

He was in the system for 7 years 8 years at Carlton and played 60 odd games. Most of them complete rubbish which was clear for all to see.

Oh but no we at the RFC know better. We can turn him into a good footballer. 3 years in and he's still rubbish. Woo hoo he can tap the ball. Big *smile*ing deal. Anyone who's 203cm can do that. What about his kicking? What about his marking? Basic skills of the game and his rubbish at them. What about his feel for the game? His reading of the play? It's non existent; he has no clue.

Where was he in the last 10 seconds when that other spud Grundy got the ball off the ground and kicked the winning goal? Hampson needed to be the to kill that contest. But he had no clue.

Yet some laud him because he can tap the ball. *smile* me is it any wonder we are mired in mediocrity.

Kicking is deplorable and his marking is non existent.
We are going into every game with 2 (Griffens) talls that can't take a contested mark to save themselves
Get rid of them.
Half his taps outs are clueless hits to noone

Hammer smashed Grundy in the ruck but around the ground he's a dinosaur. So often players run off him or he gives up the chase and it hurts us.
Mobile talls are the way forward. Time to try something different cause this is broken.

It seems the whole ruck division is broken at RFC.

Biggest worry leading into the season was not seen by those at the club (specifically Richardson & Hartley) with their she'll be right jack mentality.
Time for Blair Hartley's replacement to be sourced. Like yesterday.

Maric and Hampson both debuted for Richmond at (barely) 26 after a similar lack of opportunities. One with the heart but not the tools, the other the tools but not the heart. One right, one wrong. But both with the prime years for ruckmen ahead.

Having said that, tonight was probably Hampson's best game for the club. Dominated the taps, showed some aggression and snuck forward for a couple of marks inside 50 (albeit resulting in behinds).

If Maric's still not right, we'll get a big pointer to Hampson's future next week. No beating up on a 21yo novice; ex-teammate Jacobs humiliated him last year.

Somewhat unimaginably, it seems that Hampson might be the best available option in the ruck.
Says a lot about where the Tigers are at that this should be the case.

At training keep him on the ground and till he has 100 set shots at goals. Can't bear to watch a bloke getting 350k and miss from 20 out
Useless

If you can stomach it, watch Moore's kick that setup the winning goal. The pack flies and there's old numb nuts Hampson running past the contest out the back allowing his man Grundy to get a free hit at winning the game. There is no explanation for what he was doing.

There's never any explanation for what he's doing. He doesn't know what he's doing. Anything effective he does is by accident. He got a clearance in that game by accidentally pulling the ball out of the ruck, falling ass backwards to knock over his opponent, handballing in the air and also somehow to himself, and then panicking it sideways into Cotchin.

Hampson is a natural disaster that leaves pieces of Richmond in it's wake. He is made of chaos, and our midfield is the resulting carnage. Everything he touches (or flies inconsequentially past) turns to *smile*. He is the anti-Riewoldt.

His tap work is very good, but every other part of his game is just not good enough. He has kicked one goal, eight behinds since he has been with us.

Statistically he improved. 13 disposals (4 kicks 9 handballs) @ 62% DE. 33 metres gained....
0.2 behinds all in 82 TOG. 28 HO with 9 to advantage @ 32% HOTA.

Still a terrible footballer.
