Will be very interesting on how he goes against Jacobs today. I just saw the highlights on our website of when we last played. Jacobs smashed Ivan in the ruck and created 2 goals from his tap work. With our lack of midfield depth we need Hampson to at least half the ruck contest. As I expect nothing from him around the ground.
I don't understand the point of selecting Hampson today.
We may as well have gone in with an extra midfielder or forward.
Hampson will get beaten by Jacobs in the ruck, and then that's it. He has ZERO value around the ground (Max: 9 possessions today, 2 marks, 0 goals 2 behinds).
If Hampson loses the tap out (or more likely, taps to the opposition) then we are playing one down. And he will lose the ruck battle.
I'm happy that we are trying something with selection this week, to the point that I would be understanding about a loss, but if it comes on the back of the Hampson selection, it's going to be frustrating.
