Yep, his first 2 games were reasonable, followed by about 8 stinkers. But yes, unfortunately he won't be going anywhere.

Played well against Mummy, also did well against Brisbane with 52 hit outs & against Geelong in our narrow loss. 5 out of 11 isn't flash but he wasn't nearly as bad as some are making out.

His tap work has been good, it's just his marking that has been letting down. Buddy has started to clunk his marks after it had been a weakness, lets hope Hampson can do the same.

If another club were zany enough to want Hampson then I would be prepared to move him on for absolutely nothing in return ... not even a cheese sandwich.

Marking was also an issue at Carlton at times, reckon his problem lies between the ears.

Free to a good home. Worst mature age recruit I've seen at this club since first going to games in 1980.

Worst mark for a tall AFL player I've ever observed. Simply hopeless. Don't underestimate how poor a player he is.

Absurd statement

His marking improved towards the end of the season in the vfl.
His last 3 games he took 17 marks, including 6 contested, it would be great if he could do that in the seniors.

Yes I noticed, also went through a purple patch in 2011, can mark but is void of confidence.

Agree. He marked overhead pretty easily during some VFL games, so it must be a confidence under pressure problem.

So which mature age recruit in the past 35 years is worse? Enlighten me & remember to come up with one that was given a 3 year deal on 350-400k per year.

That amount is pure fiction.

And to answer your question, Biddiscombe, Sanchez, Neeld, Clinton King, Steve O'Dwyer and Stevan Jackson, just to name a few.

Unless we can pick up a quality ready made replacement during draft time then he will need to stay on the list as ruck back up to Maric. All our other talls are currently only part timer rucks.

None of those players would have been paid close to what Hampson is getting. McMahon is the second worst trade after Hampson. O'Dwyer lasted a year if that & Jackson two. Others in your list barely depth players,

He's definitely capable of taking the odd contested mark but you'd worry what he did with the following kick!
Blair's misfired on this one big time unfortunately for us.

Yep, Blair has some credits, but this is a massive cross.

Horrible footballer. Doesn't help when you cant mark nor kick lol.

As the primary ruck kicking is less important, it's up to the runners to feed off him. He should take a leaf out of Sandi's book and look to dish it off at first opportunity.
