His goal kicking needs work as well.

Can't work out in the life of me while we picked up a player with so many defects.
Second round pick! ::)

Weak draft. Was worth rolling the dice on. Carlton traded the pick for Andrejs Everitt and pick 39.

Underrated. Probably in the top 10 tap ruckman in the league. Unfortunately the only other thing he does well at the moment is get to a contest. He may not hold his marks but he usually gets his hands on the ball and 9 times out of 10 he keeps the ball in front of himself. Oh to have a half smart footballer to be front and square when Hampster is trying to mark.

I reckon he could be a decent mark if he just bent his elbows a little bit outward when going for the mark. This would give him more stability in the contest and put his hands in the correct position to take the mark. Unfortunately he puts his arms straight up which has the opposite effect. I often wonder if the coaches are actually teaching him this basic of football or if they are just assuming he knows it because he's playing AFL. He's a ruckman. He's not that smart.

Story of his career. Could be anything if he could take a mark.

Unfortunately its a pretty big part of a ruckman/key forward's game.

Anything is a big call. Over the top call.

He has no football brain and is an athlete trying to play football. His problems extend far beyond butter fingers.

Certainly not the worst ruck man we've had in the last 15 / 20 odd years in fact from a tap ruck point of view one of the better ones. Am I sure he will end up a reliable mark..... No..... But given the emergence of Griffiths probable retirement of Orrenson, project player in Eevarn 2 I would persist for sure

Nope. Holding his marks was his biggest weakness at Carlton as well.

He is what he is - very good at tapwork, but gives nothing else.

A handy ruck backup, but not worth his salary or draft pick.
Lucky for us we got him as a cheap version of Log Warnock, would hate to be paying what Cartoon are still paying for him.

Makes ya wonder sometimes about the smarts n decision making of those in power at footy clubs. Warnock, Kruezer, Jacobs, Hampson all playing in Cartoons sand pit a few years ago.
Jacobs now starring for the Crowbaits.
Hamster just niggling us like an itch you can't scratch.
Kruezer's just had an injury riddled career n finishing the season hoping to get a couple of magoos games.
Warner still being an expensive Log that Cartoon fans hate for about nineteen games out of twenty two, so bad that MnM had to resort to regurgitating Cam Wood in a desperate effort to bring them some sort of contest to the ruck.

Yeah, it's a bit amusing that the pick of Carltons ruck stock of Hampson, Jacobs, Warnock, Kruzer was........Wood.

Actually, it was traded for Sam Docherty. Brisse used it on Nick Robertson.

His marking numbers are dramatically worse this year than during his time at Carlton.

A bit like Aadwards being a great set shot goal kicker before joining us.

Like I've said before he was marking everything in the pre season games. A lot of strong contested grabs too.
Sure only preseason but he hasn't even looked like it since early in the season proper.
Think he must be hampered by an injury, most likely that troublesome knee of his. Has to be something up?

The fact that he doesn't seem to relish the contest has to impact on his contribution.
Just can't see him being any sort of significant participant or contributor until his contract expires come end 2016 season.

Said all this about Griffiths. I'll back the coaches

Everything?

8 years of football says he is what he is Tooheys. He clunks some, and misses most.

Bill James provided some stats as opposed to an opinion Daisy.
Whilst never a great mark his marking has been well down this year.
Pre season he wasn't dropping as many as he is now I've little doubt about that and I have seen him take some terrific contested grabs in the past.
Can't even catch the simplest of marks now for whatever reason. Terrible.

In his last two years at Carlton he averaged almost 4 marks including 2 contested. At Rich he is going at 1.8 and 0.27. They need to get his eyes checked.

Maybe certain activities with Megan is making him cross eyed ;D

Didn't his father pass away earlier this year? Not making excuses but he's only been playing footy since 2004. Hopefully there's still plenty of upside if he gets his head right.
