Had a great season last year. Miles had great years previously. I think the reason Miles and Lloyd are not getting games is for similar reasons. They aren't quick and they aren't maybe as defensively capable as others who have taken their spots, particularly in that pressure act department. Clearly the significant game plan change of this year hasn't helped either of those two players. It's not a coincidence to me that they are two of the standouts at VFL level because they are both very accomplished players but just not unfortunately relevant anymore in the eyes of our coaching panel (except as depth).
Agree, no question there lack of defensive pressure is not what the coaching staff want to see and the slower tempo of VFL suits them down to the ground.

why would they have value? or why would i consider trading one of them?

they would have value cos other teams would see our success at both levels and figure some of the players in the VFL must be ok.

i reckon we would consider trading one because they are all HBF/winger types, and we can probably afford to lose one for the right price, especially with Naish coming on board.

I think he's improving too. Playing a lot of VFL midfield minutes now and having an impact. No way known he'd have been able to do that 2 years ago.

Correct. Unless a very good offer comes in a definate keeper.

The best you could hope to get for any of them would be a second rounder, and the best you could hope to draft with a second rounder would be someone as good as them. You'd be swapping an AFL capable 20-something (most of those you listed with improvement to come) for an unready teenager. It would be a backward step for a team in contention.

Good luck to Sammy tomorrow. Love Sam but he,ll need to kick 3 to hold his spot otherwise he,ll be straight back out for Caddy.

Probably.
Best replacements for Rioli and Prestia are probably short and Conca.
So higgins and Lloyd need good games.

Not only that he needs to make an impact when he goes into the midfield

Can’t have Lloyd and Townsend in th same fwd line. Both too slow. At least Townsend brings aggression. Lloyd may look ok in the middle when playing VFL but the afl is a different ball game. Pace of the game will see him trailing throughout. Really a nothing selection. No upside in Lloyd getting games.

I think Lloyd is a great depth player replacement for Caddy. A bit of a poor man's Caddy but he's played some pretty good games in the past in the Tigers colours. We have also brought in Higgins so it's not a case of bringing in someone at the expense of a younger player. Can't have Higgins and Bolton both playing at this point in time.

Agree with most comments re: Caddy providing more impact than Lloyd except for one area - shot conversion.

I would certainly hope our mids lower the eyes and hit Lloyd up 45-55 out because he’s better than even from range.

Two goals and seventeen possies would do me as a bare pass.

Perfect like for like for Caddy.

No brainer. Deserves his chance.

Could surprise given he will get Caddy’s midfield minutes.
