To me Lloyd is one of those blokes a bit like Vickery. In a team that's on top, looks like a superstar. But not the type of bloke to drag you out of a hole when the chips are down and you need someone to grab the game by the scruff of the neck.

Yes, but they can't all be Martin.

And, at the moment, some are Castagna.

Would be close to the one I'd choose to kick that winning set shot goal after the siren that wins us the premiership flag. OK dream is over.

You won't be wearing those jammie pants for another night. ;)

Where did Sammy play? Dimma has tried to reinvent Sam as a high half forward/wing when last year he played a lot closer to goal.

I still think Sam is much better value closer to goal.
Yep, but needed him up the ground this year.

Funny story told by Grigg on Talking Tigers about Sam raising a pretend bat in recognition of his 50 possies while walking off after the game. :clap :hihi

Has he changed his game style at all? Seems to have become a bit of a ball magnet in the magoos.

I thought he was good, wouldve been better had he kicked straight.

Getting good possession numbers is usually a requirement of an AFL standard player languishing in the twos. But I wouldn't have ever guessed Lloyd was either the type of player to get those type of numbers or actually capable of it.

He must have gotten some good fitness levels going. No I wouldn't promote him but given his performances I wouldn't be concerned if he was brought into the side due to injury.

Good to see he has developed another string to his bow. He seems to really be getting everything out of himself he can while on an afl list.

Pretty sure his out of contract, so will be interesting to see if his on an AFL list next year. I'd imagine somebody is going to get squeezed out besides the obvious delistings.

Think he's got 1 more year CC.

Ok thanks Tim, only contract thread I could find was the one where he was unsigned in 2015, so I assumed he would have got 2 years. Interesting case , watching him in the 2s his paying as good a footy as I've seen him ( though selfish) can he play the same role at the top level ? Very handy depth player at worse for next year then.

Pretty hard to show what you are capable of when you're not given a go at it. Lloyd is a very talented player and works really hard. I'm not that surprised at the numbers he's been pulling in at VFL level.

Competition for spots has seen Sam take his game to another level
Thought he was a bit selfish on his use up forward. Eyes for the goals only.

lloyd had a few goes in the centre square last year and did well, but he didnt have the fitness or experience as a mid to get much of the ball around the ground.
early this year he struggled with our new game plan.
but he is a smart footballer (when not selfish), and he is strong. if he can continue to increase his fitness he will be a decent depth option to rotate between the midfield and forward. if he is on a list.

Not so much disagreeing with you tl, however he has been on the list for 5 years ? He also came in as a mature player who'd had a few years as a senior footballer , his had plenty of time to show his where's, an fact is he didn't take his opportunitys earlier in the season, I think the Sam first team second attitude had him out of the side.
