Sam Lloyd

Yes, his role has clearly changed. Why I'm not sure. Kicked 35 goals last year as the small forward.

Because he was third/fourth tall, now he's second a lot of the time. As has been pointed out he's not as effective with a big quality defender on him.

Was better higher up the ground last week but that might be because our midfield was so dominant. Keeps his spot though so anther chance this week you'd reckon.

Yep, still would like him played closer to goal, its where he does his best work.

as long as he nails those set shots Tim I'm good with that. Don't mind him having a run upfield either.

Aside from a critical error Vs Sydney, I see his ball use across half back as an asset.

Yep, 4.5 so far is his 6 games. He's usually better than that. I think (from memory) he's had more shots from further out ( as he's playing up the field more) which if is true seems to be testing him.

11 inside 50s in the last 2 games, 7 in the 4 games before that so pretty obvious he's playing up the field. Has also had 4 goal assists in last two compared to only 2 in previous 4 games.

He might be our best at sending the ball in. Over the past fortnight. He does pay attention to his opponent. If he could kick straight for goal he'd be a pass for now.

This is the guy we should replace with Jack Gunston. We need a taller more agile version who can kick a few. Gunston is the only candidate ATM. We need an upgrade who kicks goals.

I don't mind him roving between half back and half forward. Just wish he'd lay a more legitimate effort to tackle - especially near our 50m attacking arc. Some horrendous air attempts on the weekend!

Lennon (when fit) has to be played. Better mark better set shot
Pity the coach hates his guts! I bet he regrets asking to leave 23 times
Another wasted high pick

Apparently Suntan Sammy had 50 disposals and kicked 4 in the Magoos today.

Well done Sammy ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Lloyd's VFL performance yesterday was incredible but was it enough to force his way back into the team?
We've gone with the speedy forward line/defensive pressure for much of the year and it's worked a treat. Be a big call to bring Sam back now.
That said if he plays at all like he did yesterday it would be an upgrade on Castagna.
Team balance?? Decisions..decisions.

Where did Sammy play? Dimma has tried to reinvent Sam as a high half forward/wing when last year he played a lot closer to goal.

I still think Sam is much better value closer to goal.

He played a lot on the ball yesterday. He was absolutely everywhere.

Lloyd 50 disposals, Miles 45 disposals. You do have to wonder about the quality of the opposition's midfield. Not sure these performances will earn either a spot next week.

To me Lloyd is one of those blokes a bit like Vickery. In a team that's on top, looks like a superstar. But not the type of bloke to drag you out of a hole when the chips are down and you need someone to grab the game by the scruff of the neck.
