Sam Lloyd

Don't agree. He's a good small forward and needs to be played there. He isn't (and never will be) a player that can roll through the midfield. Dumb decision to play him there. Its killing us playing him up the ground and Castagna in the F50. We've got a poor field kick up the ground and a poor kick for goal in the F50. Play Lloyd in the F50 and he might just kick the goals that we need to see these games out.
Stop making sense

His turnover at the end of the second quarter which Reid converted on the half time siren gave the swans a sniff.

I thought they wee sagging off him and then heating his disposal. Effectively. They can mow him down.

Did some good things but looks very much a VFL player these days. That's not bad in one respect - he was easily starting eighteen at one stage.

Good post Posh. Why don't we play to a players strengths instead of making them what they aren't?

He butchered it all game Tim. Absolutely butchered it.

That's just wrong.

Yep, he stuffed it up too much but his first quarter was very good.

There were worse players than Lloyd.

His definatly trying to re invent himself, however like others have said play him too his strengths, he either has to go back to his small full forward role , we could use a bloke who can mark down there or he simply gos out, wasn't great yesterday but not the worst.

he cant just sit in the fwd 50 all day though. noone can. Lloyd rolled through the midfield very occasionally last year and did ok.
his kicking into fwd 50 is usually good, so why can he kick from half back?

his ball use has been off this year, which is a problem cos it is meant to be his strength.

Exactly.

Once it was known that Martin was injured we had to play Miles. Then George should have been dropped.

Need him close to goal.

Thought he was the best of the small forwards tonight. Last two games have been pretty good in my view. Should have never been left out earlier in the season. May have foudn us winning one or two of the close losses.

Agree. Would be stiff to be dropped after today.

He played really high up the ground most of the night, when the ball was deep back he was wide on the back flank. That kept him well away from goal but his reliable disposal made him a safe link man while many around him had their own Benny Hill backing track on high rotation. I thought it was his best game in awhile.

Change in forward structure really doesn't suit him.

He's playing on the number 2 key back most weeks. Those guys are taller, bigger and just as quick as Sammy.

His trump was that he is a bloody good mark for his height so he was beating smaller guys last year when getting the 4 and 5th banana.

That is now gone.

Succinct, seems on the money.

Was playing well up the ground, was almost playing as a free man in midfield. Didn't seem to be in the F50 much. Castagna and Jack were playing as the stay at home forwards.
