Reckon the Duck went from been a very very good half forward to a woeful soft midfielder, his ability to get ball on boot inside 50 for a goal was excellent , his ability to get ball on boot an turn it over in the middle was special

I always cringed whenever I saw him get the ball in the backline, you could almost guarantee an opposition score when that happened.

Vertically.

Played the game at 100mph. Brilliant when it worked n a *smile* nightmare when it didn't which was more often than not. A little thought n composure at times would have gone a looooong way in his career.

Yep, he came from miles back when drafted.

Big upside we can hopefully see this year mate.

We need his type to push up if we are to contend.

You undersell him CT.

I like his creativity, and his opportunistic goal kicking nous is about as good as it comes.

But I think his physical attributes will hold him behind in selection as the crop of a thousand small forwards which we have drafted over the past few years go past him.

It's hard being a slow small forward. That's about the toughest physical category to succeed in. He has to just be consistently opportunistic. Something also very difficult.

Biggest knock on Lloyd was his fitness so if he has this sorted then he will be right up there for a top 22 spot.

Very smart and creative player with an excellent goal sense - just what we need.

20 games, 30 goals, 16 touches a match.

Entirely doable. Looks sharp. Has the goal sense and the smarts to turn games in 10 minutes.

Something we lack savagely.

Looked dangerous whenever he was near the ball the other day. May not be blessed with pace but has 'time' and with increased fitness will get to more contests. Also as he has a good leap and is good in the air it makes him a little bit harder to match up.

Reportedly has elite endurance but just too slow in my book. Maybe if he has dropped a few kegs he might pick up a little pace. Last year he definitely moved around more and played a little higher which meant he probably got to more contests so if he can improve again he could be handy, but to be honest, I don't think he will make it. Hope I'm wrong.

Yep fair points and leysy agrees with leg speed being crucial for a small forward.

Think Lloyd has the ability to play higher and even through the middle though. Should be looking at countless tapes of Paul Chapman to base his game off ILHO.

He has some real ability to get into that role, but to make up for that real zip he has needed to get supremely fit. He's come from a long long way back in that dept' but looks to now be getting there.

Has some real scope to improve if he does.

Nah, has never had elite endurance. He was a sloppy, but skilled bush full forward before coming to us.

Just now getting an AFL body on him.

Good summation Ripplestick agree with all that. His repeated contest work was noticeable in the scratch game and you're right too that his aerial ability is what separates him as a small forward. He plays quite tall.
He's also a dead eye *smile* who doesn't need a heap of opportunities to hit the scoreboard.

I think he's best 22 on talent. If he gets a tank he adds another string to his bow that will make him very dangerous.

Hearing you, but I think we are all mistaking speed with intensity, he's quick when he wants or needs to be, has just relied for longer in the lower leagues (Deniliquin and Frankston) on his smarts and natural talents - was always going to be found out a bit until he got fitter and played with more intensity. I think/hope he could be approaching that now. Good model Leysy that one of Chapman!

I still hold out some hope for Lloyd ... reckon he is near abouts the final 22 when in good nick.
If he's had a good and productive pre-season then he might have added another dimension to his game that may produce a greater impact for the team over a longer period.
He is a goer ... no doubt about it ... you can tell he wants to succeed.

He was ok. With his bigger engine will be more dangerous than last year around goals and better defensively
