Sam Lloyd

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

mcbean, griff, tyrone are all better suited forward

soldo is unlikely to make it

hampson is proper terrible

get kreuzer

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

6 goals in 2 games when starting. Subbed a couple times, nice impact when he gets his 1 quarter now dropped. Zero sense there. Newman is going to offer more as a forward? That's a laugh.

Against teams we smashed by 83 and 91 points but anyway....

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

Newman offers much more defensively, which is important if you're playing three tall forwards.

Anyone whingeing about Newman playing must enjoy banging their head against a brick wall.

And he won't be there next year anyway. I wonder who will be taking Lloyd's spot then? I think Sam will get another year with us, but he's really not and never will be a long term answer to the small forward question.

I've watched and its line ball. Very tough to make it to the top level and he's coming from a long way back.

If he makes it's , it's a bonus

As it stands the ruck brigade is weak as Maric is aging, Hampson no good, the others are better forward

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

Has not started on the ground again since he kicked 3 in the first quarter against Collingwood in rd. 21?

Quite amazing really?

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

Expect to see Spud Morris line up in the forward line, Round 1 2016

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

I hope Sam can step up next year and become a permanent starting 22. Has the tricks and with dedication can become a very good AFL small forward.

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

A genuine goal kicking fwd. He should be a lock for FP every week. Can crumb can lead n mark also for a small. Smart around goal. We lack any sort of this player and bemused he was dropped. U can jot him down for 2-3 goals every week so I can't see why he is not playing week in Week out.....

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

If I kicked 3 goals in the first quarter - the HOTTEST part of the game - in rd. 21 against a good team, and we won by 15 goals, then I did not start on the ground again for the season, actually was made Sub for the next 2 weeks, then got dropped , I would be SPEWING, not to mention confused.

Just what do they want from me...??

and Lennon

and McBean

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

A good depth player that is reliable and contributes well when needed. A keeper for now and lets see if we manage an upgrade in the trade period.

That's a fair comment. Sam will love the fact that the sub rule is gone.

I still have high hopes he can make it. Tory Dickson at the Bulldogs showed what he can do with a full season of opportunity.

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

His improved no doubt, however is he good enough for a top 4 mid size forward ? His lack of pace is a worry when opposition bring it out of the back half. I'm not fussed if he stays, however I think I'd neally give his spot to Stevie J for a year and then bank on the likes of Butler, Short, McBean coming in to produce more goals. He'd be heading into only his 3rd AFL season but he will be 27

That's nailed it, CC. He's a journeyman. He'll have the occasional good game, but never be consistent and his lack of pace is a real concern.
