Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

10 disposal in just over a half...plus a goal. Will still be a borderline selection v Melbourne.....

I'm liking his attack on the ball more an his work ethic

Agreed. 4 tackles in a half was outstanding.

Its safe to assume he and Gordon are vying for the same position but IMO you look at any area of the game bar speed and he beats Gordon in all other aspects. Better with the pressure, cleaner hands, better mark (despite being smaller). I think it works better having Gordon as the sub and Lloyd in the team.

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

It was wasn't it - can we afford to have a forward who is slow and doesn't chase or tackle defensively? He lacks confidence in his own ability despite making the most of his opportunities so far.

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

Shocking, just shocking.

Along with Morris and Gordon the 3 worse players on the ground.

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

Cant believe how many chest marks this guy drops, its no point doing the miraculous once every few weeks if you can't do the basics each week

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

Possibly one of the worst individual games I have seen. Everything he touched turned to Sh!t. I've never seen so many fumbles by a single player in one game.

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

Maybe we should stay away from country footballers

Agreed papers stamped. I actually thought the conditions would suit him.

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

I was a Lloyd fan. Thought he had some X factor and the extra conditioning from a full pre season would see him improve his consistency. Great game against Carlton, I sas smiling

Last three games have been awful, culminating in one of the worst games I have seen from a Richmond player tonight.

I'm off him now. Would rather McBean or, God forbid, Vickery

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

Play Lennon instead of this useless dud.

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

Agree with the slamming of Sammy, was a shocker! but IMO he should be told to stay at the feet of the forwards and pick up the crumbs on a wet night. Why was he in the middled? Why was he in the backline? Bloody terrible game and bloody terrible instructions for the game.

Even if he was there to pick up the crumbs tonight he still would have fumbled.

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

When you are a "natural footballer" and not blessed with the genetic makeup of your opponents, nor apply any physical pressure you can not fumble the ball like that on a wet night.
Very, very surprising and extremely concerning. I knew he would not get much of the ball but just expected him to be clean when he got it because that is all he has going for him at this level. That is the type of game that can quickly end a career. The biggest thing he has going for him is we may have the worst small forward stocks in the last decade of any club list. Maybe Nathan Foley can join Matty Arnott as our whippy attacking small forwards :help.

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

Over reaction in my opinion. Had a poor night but was still top 3 in disposal efficiency for the disposals he did have. We simply can't have both Lloyd and Gordon in the same team. When will we prioritize a nippy skillful forward? It just adds so much more pressure for the opposition when the ball hits the ground.

You can not fumble the ball like that on the HFF at this level and have the opponent get a clear take away.
There is a reason Melbourne had way less inside 50's midway through the 3rd quarter but were killing us on the scoreboard.

Non pressured turnovers on your HFF are deadly at this level because all your teammates have moved into offensive positions against their opponents and it is almost impossible to make up the ground.
