That's what I noticed yesterday. Actually created some crumbs in the forward line that Vickery could only dream of creating.

he was hitting it hard for sure. The whole side was though, really noticed our contested marks in general play. I've been saying it for a while, that what separates the good sides from the average. Yesterday we were good

Was stiff to be dropped first time round. Isn't the classical small forward with pace, more of a Medhurst type small.

But he has smarts, isn't afraid to fly and does so with the intent of bringing the ball to ground.

Should play the rest of the year. I think he is a keeper.
That's well put....so we do continue to search for the elusive quick 40+ goal kicking small forward

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

Absolutely CC.

No question. A couple of classy skilled smalls with elite speed should be very high on the shopping list.

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

Has kicked 3 goals in 3 of his 6 games. Not bad.

Those can sometimes be the kiss of death, bv. Hopefully that won't be the case this time.

Agree, so why doesn't Dimma see it that way?
It's like if he doesn't kick 3 a game he gets dropped. ???

Well Choco gave him a wrap on the site a couple of weeks ago saying he was under consideration and he then picked up a game in the 1's, so lets hope not. Off topic, but Choco also had a similar article on Gordon a couple of weeks ago so maybe we will see him again before too long.

That's actually a possibility, got good numbers in the Geelong game. Could be an in for Conca if they want to be cautious with the concussion, although I'd rather McD get another go.

Agree although I can't see the tigers playing all of Gordon, Llyod and McDona in the same team at the moment, but I could see McDona for Morris perhaps. Conca should be OK given we have the weekend bye.

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

Yeah, I'd like McDonough for Morris too, but I can't see Steve being dropped unless his arm actually falls off.

Unfortunately true but boy he must be close after the last few weeks.

I'm sure he could go out there with it stapled on.

Re: Welcome Sam Lloyd

Certainly gets in the right places, query whether there's enough polish for the level and the position.

Wait and see.

The polish is fine, pace & fitness the big queries (in that order) for leysy.

Another pre season will help with the fitness, but at his age I can't see him ever getting the pace.

He looks to have a good football brain and in his position that can help overcome pace to some extent, knowing or anticipating where the drop of the ball will be. Fitness is an issue and hopefully another pre season should help there. He does have two very good attributes, he has a good sense of where the goals are and is a good kick. He just needs to get a bit more of the ball. Time will tell on whether he will make it or not, I hope he does.
