Sam Lloyd

Sam knows he will not get a regular gig with the tigers current players in good form but he knows he is close to a call up most weeks and when he does get a game he never lets us down. A real team player is Sam and happy to have him at the club

Do you have any recruiting intel for us yet se7en?

Got our eye on a full forward.
Said he’s like Mark McQueen
Can’t say much more, wink. Wink.

Are you referring to Lynch? If not, McQueen was a backman from Tassie. Is that a hint? If not Lynch, I need a PM too!

Ops. I was joking. :)

I have really been impressed with Lloyd the few games that he has played in the 1s'. He always shows great composure and good foot skills. Earlier this year, I can't remember which game it was, but there was a game where most of the Richmond players seemed to want to hit bullet passes to the forward line. The first came off, but the rest were rubbish. In the second half it was Lloyd who calmly hit 2 normal easier passes with touch to the forwards, which seemed to get the rest of the team to do the same.

To top it off, he seems like a really good bloke too. Very happy he is staying.

Reckon that might have been the Geelol game where we won by 3 points. He had one big quarter (third I think) that was a big part of us winning that game. Tackles. Feeds to free players (got a ripper blind handball to Cotchin who goaled). Good kicking. Also kicked a long goal half way through the last quarter that was massive in context - our last goal for the game too. Was a touch unlucky to be dropped, but we had to get Lambert back on deck somehow.

Yeah, he's not as fast as some, but neither was Greg Williams.

Well hopefully this summer he can gained those yards needed to get back in. Wish him luck

He is never getting the speed he doesn’t have. He presented unbelievably well this year. Dropped a fair bit of weight and was really fit but explosive pace is one thing that’s really hard to develop.

Yep, sign on for another year.
Knocked back a better offer.

only wish that he is given a real go next year because the love might just become hate.
