Rugby Union

They have come home with a wet sail, winning the last five or six in a row.

But all of those have been at home in Pretoria.

This will be their first trip in a long while, so it could play to our advantage.

But they will definately be tough, especially their forwards, who are huge!!!

We beat the Bulls earlier this year (Rnd 5) pretty easily 42 - 12 at the SFS, so hopefully that is a sign of things to come  ;D !!!

I don't think the fact that he wears mascara during the games really helps Ma'a Nonu much....or maybe it does?!!!

He is a good player though and makes a great partner to Tana Umunga in the middle (or on the wing), but I still don't think that te Hurricanes have quite the oomph to out muscle the Crusaders, especailly on their home turf.

Nice to see we have finally been able to hold onto a player, with Al Baxter signing on for another 2 years  :clap !!!

I was pretty excited actually, given our recent inability to hold onto anyone....

So yeah, Go 'Tahs!!!

I just wonder where all this will end up

I understand we need progress

But I hate what the VFL has turned into

I can live with it

Be the same as NRL not being a Sydney code I spose

Given the crowds some of the games are getting here at the moment, the NRL is barely a Sydney code either  ::) !!!

Union is a bit different though, I guess, given this is the first time that the established franchises have had their pockets picked.

In the past there were some players, looking for a career break or something, that moved from one franchise to the other
(eg. Jason Little) and the Brumbies have collected pretty well from both NSW and QLD over the years.

But nothing can be compared to the blatent attempts by the Western Force at pillforing players out from under their contracts with existing states, while they are still in play, that has been going on recently.

But as you said that is progress. We wanted the fourth Australian franchise and here it is, and it really has no choice but to try and arrest the best out-of-contract players it can from the three existing organisations. And so far it has been pretty damn successful.

But if you think it is ordinary here, spare a thought for the new South African group. There aren't even enough quality players as it is in the republic to fill the current four provincial teams, let alone five next year.

The franchise has been named, but I can't remember where it is, sorry :( !!!

And now they are fighting over the availability of players for the new team.
