Round 19 - Other games

If what? They are coaching Collingwood and they’ve won 9 in a row and are in the top 4. They may well win the whole thing.
Nah they aren't good enough to do that yet.

Their side is still unbalanced with too many kids.

They are however embarrassing the hell out of the RFC by playing Richmond Footy whilst the RFC seems to be unable or unwilling to.

Went to the Suns game at the Gabba. I'm hating the Gabba more and more, its *smile*. Metricon far superior. The Suns remind me a bit of us early to mid 2010s, core of guns but a poor bottom tier. Its one of the toughest things to get right, having the right type and balance of battlers. Miller, Rankine, and King are players you can build a side around, and they are starting to.

I find Mathieson quite interesting. He's not much good, barely even qualifies as a fringe player, but he struts around like he's Dangerfield and everyone knows his name. There are regular best 20 players in most sides nobody, including the commentators, barely know from a bar of soap.
Metricon sucks.

That's why luck is on their side with those close wins. Nowhere near a flag team. Bummers nearly beat them. They'll get found out next season and will surely finish out of the 8 just like the Aints in 2020 and then last season.

It’s wide open and we’ve *smile* the bed. Such a shame.

Scumwood are a big chance. The way they’re playing they could beat anyone. Geelong is the other form team but can they get over the finals hoodoo. Melbourne is probably the best team but they have dropped off at the wrong time. Can they get back to their best in time for finals.

Don’t rate Freo, Brisbane, Carlton, Dogs or Saints. Swans are too inconsistent.

Such a shame that we most likely won’t be there. This was our last roll and we’ve blown it.
Seriously the Pies are the worst side in the 8. They will get knocked out without winning.

Luckywood has won 9 in a row since we beat them in R9.

They go up, we go down.
At the midseason draft we were above them
They took Carmichael the pick before we picked Brauer.
Knowing our recruiting team Knowing Carmichael was a ball winning midfielder we wouldve still selected a project player.
They selections can make a difference

....and bad luck just continues for us with WC back on the gear again losing to the Aints. How the F.... do these situations just happen like a script??

Tenthmond.

Plenty said that about us in 2017 as well Jazz. In fact most pundits predicted a straight sets exit when we finished 3rd.

The Pies have beaten most other teams in the 8. It's wide open and they are a chance. The rest of them aren't that good either.

Fly and Leppa bringing some mental toughness to the Pies. The exact ingredient we have completely lost
Exactly.
Plus nous when it comes time to select the side.
Remember Damien’s love affair with Griffith? He was infatuated with playing three talls in the forward line.
Looks like those days are back again.

That last 2 minutes from Bulldogs is how you desperately defend a lead. Get everyone back in total desperation- against GC we gave them one on ones in their forward line and just were not desperate enough across the ground
Mmmm. So who's in charge of the game-plan, giving the instructions?
What's that saying about keeping on doing the same thing but expecting a different outcome.

Or to put it another way - do you actually train and teach the players ... or do you just pay lip service? "We'll learn from this."

If we’d kept them, if dimma had taken a pay cut, if, if , if…

They’re all hypotheticals and mean *smile*.
I agree. Although my post was not about Leppa and Fly it was about all the excuses being made for our close losses.

If we had Lynch, if Dusty was playing, if Balta's brain didn't explode, if we had have kicked straight etc etc etc

The fact is we had things in our control to win many of the close games and we could not even manage to win one. It is all on us and no one else.

I've just seen the dogs draw - we are out of contention. We'll either finish ninth or tenth (hopefully)

Yeah. Except we just keep losing.
Yes of course, just pointing out it has been such a close season, so many close games and this year more than any, it's how you perform under pressure at the death and we've been extremely poor at handling that.

Dogs have Geelong away and Freo at home the next week so they should go 1-1 or 0-2 in those 2 games anyway.
Except, the Moggs don't need to absolutely win now, do they? A game clear and healthy percentage on Dees. Time to 'rest' some key players?

We struggle to win 2
I'm saying 1 out of the last 4.
Season ended in 8 minutes. When lynch held the Viking's arm.
17 points up and we still lose..fken unbelievable
