How many 50 mtr penalties will we give away ?

How many umpire abuse frees will we give away ?

I'll go 8 & 3

Damn, that sucks.

Now they'll convince themselves they should've, could've, and would've won.

Always prefer to play them at full strength so there's no excuses.
If neither side's at full strength than woulda, shoulda, coulda remains as always an irrelevant argument. Simply a matter of run what ya brung n take whatever ya get.

No problem but its starting to get tricky down back.

I am assuming Vlastuin, Grimes and Lambert wont play. But Graham will get there considering they have be putting the miles into his legs and another full training session unscathed.

FB: Mansell Tarrant Broad
HB: Short Gibcus Rioli
C: Mcintosh Martin Ross
HF: Edwards Balta Baker
FF: Bolton Riewoldt Lynch
Foll: Nankervis Prestia Cotchin
Int: Castsgna Graham Ralphsmith Soldo
Sub: Aarts
Emerg: Miller, Sonsie, Pickett, Stack

I thought hard about bringing in another tall but I think we will opt for another runner/small in Mansell. Carlton will push their smalls up the ground and try to lock it in their F50. We are going to have to rely on Tarrant, Gibcus and Broad to take their talls. Balta the back up option but I cant see us starting Balta back considering the work put in over summer and last weeks performance in playing up forward.

Looks good smokin.

I think Mansell if we need a lock down defender on say a Martin maybe otherwise Hugo could get that role which allows Aarts to come in and Mansell as the sub.

Pity about Grimes and Vlas though.

Good stuff Aces, like Mansell and glad you have him in.

I may have missed something re: Pickett, but why isn’t he in there?

Would take him over Ross EDOTWATOS

Good work SA but agree that backline looks weak.

It does ToO.

This is why KMac and Pickett must drift back and also why Nank and Soldo must both play.

A good early test of the structures we have put in place.

Hope we don’t blink and throw Balta or Baker back.

I feel like Pickett is out of favour atm. Not sure why. Fitness perhaps?

The likes of Miller or Biggie aren’t going to make a magical difference. Inexperience.

We have lost Vlastuin and Grimes through injury. And then Astbury and Houli through retirement. That’s shitload of experience gone. They can’t be replaced.

The only other option is starting Balta down back but I can’t see the match committee doing it.

We are going to bank on the players up the ground to do the heavy lifting and deny Carlton entries into their forward 50. It’s pretty cliche but the team who wins the midfield will win this game.

what's happened to Vlastuin?

Gibcus debuts under the circumstances?

I don't think they'll start Balta back, but Dimma didn't rule it out.

Have to watch out for Kennedy.
Was virtually BOG versus the Dees.
He drifted forward as an offensive side mid, the link to the forwards.
At times, he was virtually left unchecked, no blocker.
Was damaging in the first half, when the game was up for grabs.
With Grimes and Vlaustin out, hopefully Hugo plays as a lateral HBF.
They have a nice mismatch in height between McKay and Fisher, the crumber.

Maybe we have Soldo do most of the ruck in the middle and put Nank down back for long periods and Balta can ruck in the forward line.

With the ability to move the ball to forward 50 from half back seemingly easier now we need a good defence.
